How long do you think we have until countries en mass recognize that internet sovereignty is vital to national security and set up government backed firewalls à la China? I didn't care much for portable video gaming as a kid, I had one of those bootleg Brick Game things, which I liked, and eventually got a GBA with a few cartridges for it, though I didn't enjoy the dark screen all that much, so I barely played it compared to my home consoles. I play mostly on handhelds nowadays though, the busy days with little time to play, mixed in with the comfort of being able to play while I lay down in bed, has really won me over recently. It's crazy how many are coming out nowadays, since Nintendo struck gold with the Switch. How do you feel about playing on the go? What about playing in bed comfortably? Still it was an interesting wad to play through and dig around in doom builder to learn a bit more on doom mapping. (Which I highly recommend doing if you're really interested on learning layouts.) Unless you're looking for that cyberpunk theme itch I recommend playing Doomerboards AUGER;ZENITH over rated I know but its the closest thing I can think of. NOW LETS FUCKING DOOM

We're in the middle of a Slike boom, and it seems there's a new one every few months. In a tidal wave of pretenders, what's worth the time investment? What's on your backlog? What's your build like? Who's walling you? What's on your mind? <What even is a Slike? A vague subgenre of melee action-adventure-RPG's, typically featuring a hard / punishing-but-fair difficulty, a mature dark-fantasy setting with lots of lore (typically optional, in item descriptions), with a good variety in builds / gameplay approaches, an EXP penalty for dying (that can be recovered) and a highly explorable world with static checkpoints that reset the world on use, gated by numerous difficult boss encounters. Any FromSoft-hypetrain-wannabe Dark Souls clone, that requires you to git gud, with a depressing setting that 2deep4u lorefags jerk off to and argue about, where you take your pick of rollslop / parryslop / turtling and STR / DEX / INT, then you lose your souls when you die, all the enemies respawn and you get sent back to the bonfire to do it again until da boss is dead. Not every game that fits that description is a slike (especially with the term being used as both a tacked-on marketing tool and an insult), and not every slike fits that description - the most straightforward answer is that once you've played one, you'll intuitively know when you're playing another one. Lately I've been interested in looking for a final solution to the imageboard problem, deplatforming and relying on centralized authorities for hosting. P2P through TOR seems like the most logical path forward. But the software would also need to be accessible, easily installed and understood by just about anyone, and easily secure/private by default. Retroshare seemed like a decent choice, but unfortunately its forum function is significantly lacking in features. I haven't investigate too much into zeronet either but from what I recall that was a very bloated piece of software and I'm looking for something that's light and simple. Then there's BitChan (>>507) which fits most of the bill but contrasted with Retroshare is not simple to setup. I know there is essentially nothing else out there so this thread isn't necessarily asking to be spoonfed some unknown piece of software that went under the radar of anons. But I think the concept of P2P imageboards should be further explored even though the failure of zeronet soured a lot of peoples perspective on the concept. Imageboards are so simple by nature I feel this shouldn't be as difficult as it is. Retroshare comes close but as I understand it you can't really moderate the forums that you create. Plus the media integration is basically non-existent, though media is a lesser concern. But having everything routed through tor and being able to mail, message, and have public forums all in a single small client available on every operating system is the kind of seamlessness that a program needs for widespread adoption.

I'm a "truecel," a "subhuman," a "sub-five" with what I honestly feel is one of the worst appearances a human being could possibly have. Because of that, I feel like I'm constantly rejected, ignored and left out. I've missed out on so many basic social experiences that pretty much everyone else seems to have at some point. My self-confidence and self-esteem are so fucking low that sometimes I feel like I'm even worse off than the so-called "losers" and "incels." Like I'm somehow on an even lower level than them, in a place where I'm basically the only person who exists. I've always felt like the most socially unlucky person in the world. Even other "incels" and "losers" seem to get something out of life, while I get absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. At first, this made me feel fucking miserable. I couldn't find any comfort or any sense of belonging anywhere, not even in the darkest corners of the internet. I even started having some violent and antisocial thoughts toward humanity because of it. But after thinking about it over and over again, I eventually stopped feeling sad about it. Because honestly, no matter what we experience or how we live our lives, we're all going to die eventually. The memories people have of living relatively happy lives, of finding some kind of acceptance, belonging, affection or validation, will eventually disappear. And my memories of never achieving any of those things will disappear too. From our own individual perspectives, eventually it'll be like none of it ever happened. In the end, none of it really makes a difference. And weirdly enough, I actually feel kind of lucky that there's no afterlife where we'd have to relive our lives forever. If there were, I'd be completely fucking screwed. I'd be stuck forever watching everyone else having experienced at least one moment of happiness while I never got anything.

For once, if the occasion permits I'd like some light shed on this subject, as to what idea for a game anon's got in his head that would require girls and guns. Girls and guns at first appear like inconciliable realities. Guns imply people wielding guns and the use of firearms, tools which can neutralize potential threats with minimal effort, commodified weapons for a brutal reality which more often than not requires them, and are pretty fun for sport as well precisely because of their macabre reality. The other pertains human beings of the opposite sex, largely neotenous and with stylized bodily proportions to whatever makes the artist's ちんぽ happy. Do they really mix? Games in which guns are integral to gameplay tend to create hostile settings to accentuate the necessity of guns. For instance, Doom has demons as enemies, Stalker has hostile factions and fictional, mutated wildlife, Deus Ex has terrorists, robots and highly specialized military branches of fictional organisms. Their worlds require guns to provide a fair shake against all possible threats to the player. On the contrary, games in which the girls are the selling point require to accentuate the cuteness and/or sex appeal of said girls through matching gameplay. They may do spastic cartoony action if they don't already skip the action entirely, and if they do feature guns said guns may as well be Nerf guns with firearm damage on enemies that look the part. Rarely if ever are there games published that pit cute girls and real guns together and don't compromise on the reality of firearms. Options for games about girls with guns therefore have to either neuter violence with guns to a point in which the girls are not facing any real danger and the guns have about as much punch as a wet fart, or place cute 2D girls in a hostile setting that can and will take their lives away at a given chance to an audience of depraved grown men with a guro fetish. Almost nothing aired for 2026 yet, I personally prefer to wait and be surprised than plan ahead. In the last week, I have been watching seasonal anime that I have skipped because these are some slow weeks between seasons during the holidays. It's a different mood than watching week by week but since the new season hasn't aired yet they are still 'fresh'.
My fav from last season(fall2025) would be Nageki no Bourei wa Intai shitai(s2/cour2 but still count). I really like the sheer stupidity of it and the cast of retard in it.

I almost skipped on Mugen gacha because I was baited by the premise thinking it would be yet another of those shoelace anime but was glad when it went a bit dark with the attempted murder of the MC. Got afraid when the MC said he didn't want vengeance at first because I fucking hate these stupid moralfag MC but was happy when he said he wanted to take his time. It's obviously a comedy anime to not be taken seriously, it was fine at first. Interesting setting with demi-humans(read:subhumans) being racist again humans which could pave the way toward some race war arc. However, the pacing both went too fast and too slow at the same time. Thing went fast yet not much happen. The longer it goes the more I felt it's just like overlord(another anime I like less the more I watched) where it's just an overpowered MC with no challenge but take itself seriously when it come to doing edgy shit and bullying other characters(it redeem itself because those are subhumans). If I could change something, it should lean more into comedy and take itself even less seriously or go serious into human supremacist nation-building to genocide the non-humans but would need some actual challenge.
Worst anime that I have completed from that season has to be the shitty isekai assasin anime. I was running out of shit to watch by the time I picked up. It was meh at the start, I seen the same pattern in isekai a lot by now. At least it was slightly interesting because there were some intrigue and mystery about the world and the king. Then it went away as the MC get strong and bag an elf slut then teleport to her place and fix everything with the power of familial love. I could have lived with yet another generic shitty isekai anime if it gave me midly interesting world building and/or fuckable female characters. However, few anime MC made me as mad as this fucker. Despite being some assassin and being told by every single person to kill some ugly fat bastard who is comically evil and deserving of death, the MC spend multiple episode moralfagging about not wanting to kill. The worse kind of japanese MC ever, it was like sh*nji from eva himself was isekai'd and somehow managed to get faggier. Made me wish I would get isekai'd so I could beat his ass to death with a rusted crowbar. All that shit, only to end with him killing the bastard off-cam and going 'im afraid of myself because I didn't feel a thing :(('. Why the fuck does japs still make protag like this in 1995+30? What smartphones do you use, /tech/ anons? I just got a Samsung Galaxy A25 as a birthday gift from my sister, it's the 1st time I've used one with 8GB RAM and a 120Hz refresh rate and I have to say, I thought people were dramatic over refresh rates for no reason, that it wasn't a big deal, but damn! I love just how smooth it is now, can't see myself going back to a 60Hz or even 90Hz screen after this one. It's also got a headphone jack and micro SD slot, rare today.
