Second is that, despite censoring their own games, Nintendo actually has a history of leaving third-parties alone regarding what content is allowed to be inserted into their games, a topic I will be getting into in the following post. We're in the middle of a Slike boom, and it seems there's a new one every few months. In a tidal wave of pretenders, what's worth the time investment? What's on your backlog? What's your build like? Who's walling you? What's on your mind? <What even is a Slike? A vague subgenre of melee action-adventure-RPG's, typically featuring a hard / punishing-but-fair difficulty, a mature dark-fantasy setting with lots of lore (typically optional, in item descriptions), with a good variety in builds / gameplay approaches, an EXP penalty for dying (that can be recovered) and a highly explorable world with static checkpoints that reset the world on use, gated by numerous difficult boss encounters. Any FromSoft-hypetrain-wannabe Dark Souls clone, that requires you to git gud, with a depressing setting that 2deep4u lorefags jerk off to and argue about, where you take your pick of rollslop / parryslop / turtling and STR / DEX / INT, then you lose your souls when you die, all the enemies respawn and you get sent back to the bonfire to do it again until da boss is dead. Not every game that fits that description is a slike (especially with the term being used as both a tacked-on marketing tool and an insult), and not every slike fits that description - the most straightforward answer is that once you've played one, you'll intuitively know when you're playing another one. Almost nothing aired for 2026 yet, I personally prefer to wait and be surprised than plan ahead. In the last week, I have been watching seasonal anime that I have skipped because these are some slow weeks between seasons during the holidays. It's a different mood than watching week by week but since the new season hasn't aired yet they are still 'fresh'.
My fav from last season(fall2025) would be Nageki no Bourei wa Intai shitai(s2/cour2 but still count). I really like the sheer stupidity of it and the cast of retard in it.
Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta get an honorable mention because I want to fuck the MC.
I almost skipped on Mugen gacha because I was baited by the premise thinking it would be yet another of those shoelace anime but was glad when it went a bit dark with the attempted murder of the MC. Got afraid when the MC said he didn't want vengeance at first because I fucking hate these stupid moralfag MC but was happy when he said he wanted to take his time. It's obviously a comedy anime to not be taken seriously, it was fine at first. Interesting setting with demi-humans(read:subhumans) being racist again humans which could pave the way toward some race war arc. However, the pacing both went too fast and too slow at the same time. Thing went fast yet not much happen. The longer it goes the more I felt it's just like overlord(another anime I like less the more I watched) where it's just an overpowered MC with no challenge but take itself seriously when it come to doing edgy shit and bullying other characters(it redeem itself because those are subhumans). If I could change something, it should lean more into comedy and take itself even less seriously or go serious into human supremacist nation-building to genocide the non-humans but would need some actual challenge.
Worst anime that I have completed from that season has to be the shitty isekai assasin anime. I was running out of shit to watch by the time I picked up. It was meh at the start, I seen the same pattern in isekai a lot by now. At least it was slightly interesting because there were some intrigue and mystery about the world and the king. Then it went away as the MC get strong and bag an elf slut then teleport to her place and fix everything with the power of familial love. I could have lived with yet another generic shitty isekai anime if it gave me midly interesting world building and/or fuckable female characters. However, few anime MC made me as mad as this fucker. Despite being some assassin and being told by every single person to kill some ugly fat bastard who is comically evil and deserving of death, the MC spend multiple episode moralfagging about not wanting to kill. The worse kind of japanese MC ever, it was like sh*nji from eva himself was isekai'd and somehow managed to get faggier. Made me wish I would get isekai'd so I could beat his ass to death with a rusted crowbar. All that shit, only to end with him killing the bastard off-cam and going 'im afraid of myself because I didn't feel a thing :(('. Why the fuck does japs still make protag like this in 1995+30? It's not deep, it's not emotional, it's whiney and obnoxious. No wonder, the birthrate is going down if this is the media airing on tv. Japan would be fixed if Rance had a tv anime.

I wasn't sure how to title this but i want to discuss the absolute garbage you and i come across in games or in news about games. For example i came across this yellow paint thing in a game that i tried out. The absolutely amazing part was that this was literally in the start, right as you started out. Then there was this absolute World Of Warcraft shitstorm that happened in the 9.1.5 update where they turned the game into a leftists dream of niggertopia and more. You don't have to imagine because i have a entire folder of screenshots and videos i saved back then. Some of these are not from the 9.1.5 update but the majority are. Oh and we can't forget the crapcom leaks.

I feel like big part of how much you enjoy a game, depends on how healthy you are. And I'm talking both from a physical and mental perspective. Think of it like this, when you're sick, you don't want to do anything but sleep. The same logic would apply to how much you enjoy games. Imagine having a sickly body and a sickly mind, it would be impossible to enjoy games to the fullest. So in this thread, we will discuss similar experience, and tips to improve your health. I'm not talking about just the typical go to the gym shit, it's not the only thing that matters. Having a healthy body and mind can be much more complicated than it looks.
I'd previously assumed that Electron-esque garbage like Snap and Flatpak were just a fad confined to lazy commercial software, but along with a slow general decline in community packager activity, I've recently noticed more and more dev projects like GIMP and Handbrake abandoning official Linux builds for distro-native package formats. Reading a bit about it, the underlying tools and standards for packaging appear to be in general decay, and I was surprised to see some distros like Ubuntu and Fedora making noises about completely abandoning their package managers at some (usually vague) point in the future! Throughout the span of modern Linux distros, before the need to resort to manually installing every single version of a piece of software, as an alternative to waiting for the distro's repo to update from (sometimes painfully outdated) stable versions, there were pretty much always builds of whatever available from either the developers themselves or some helpful person's PPA. Without that, Linux will become much less convenient to use at best, far more bloated and broken at worst. It has been suggested by some, such as this article: https://ludocode.com/blog/flatpak-is-not-the-future that the main problem which allowed such moronic software to gain momentum (aside from security flimflam exaggerating its sandbox capabilities) was Linux's notoriously unstable ABI, a problem that is gradually fixing itself. But I worry the only real solution to lazy devs would be package managers that cleanly install multiple versions of the same dep, and an explicit way for packages to specify minimum/maximum versions for dep compatibility. I'm also unsure as to how much inertia there is behind this. In the case of Ubuntu, for instance, is this something that's definitely going to be forced down all the other big forks' (e.g.: Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu, etc.) throats? Or is this something that will probably remain opt-out beyond Ubuntu Desktop? Obviously, I'm not encouraging any action or, heaven forbid, the aid of such organizations. Simply an unbiased analysis of current non-state actors based on their level of efficiency.
Number 1 is Hezbollah, by far. With a membership numbering over 100,000 fighters and support personnel and a budget of nearly a billion dollars a year, Hezbollah is the most country-like non-country in the world after disputed places like Transnistria. They are so powerful that they can go toe to toe with Israel and give the jews a bloody nose. Their command structure, like all organizations discussed, is murky for security reasons but the Secretary General Naim Qassem is allegedly in charge while strategic decisions are made by a Shura council of 7 unknown men with a bunch of sub-commanders presiding over regional units. The leadership has likely been infiltrated by jewish spies and traitors. However, this must not be severe as the organization has literally outperformed ALL surrounding state militaries. In addition to active fighters, the organization provides police, medical services, welfare, even trash disposal services to the population of southern Lebanon. This is in addition to the trash removal they provide by launching missiles at jews.
HAMAS ranks a clear number 2, again blurring the lines between state and non-state. Technically, they shouldn't be in this list since they are even more officially a "state" than Hezbollah. Controlling Gaza... more or less, HAMAS is allegedly both a party and an "army". The political wing is allegedly led by Khalil al-Hayya who is sort of the president of Gaza but not officially. He almost certainly has no direct control over the 'army" part, which appears to be under the command of a bunch of local leaders. The organization has a bunch of branches that handle social welfare and other non-violent services. Recently waffle-stomped by Israel, they're still technically able to hold territory against the jews, at least in the sense that it would cost blood to occupy some parts of Gaza.
Houthi rebels in Yemen. Another state that's not a state but really is, they control a country sized country the size of the part of Yemen that was monarchist back in the 70s. Their revenue is very diversified ranging from taxation to Iran to extortion from shipping companies. Their revenue likely is in the hundreds of millions annually. Given that they were able to absolutely waffle stomp Saudi Arabia militarily while also at war with the "legitimate government" or Yemen and is a partner with Iran in the war against ZOG, they really should rank higher than HAMAS. They're one of the few "non"-state actors who can threaten international shipping and actually mean it.
Trailing behind but still capable is, curiously enough, ISIS. It is entirely unclear who is running ISIS even officially. America has killed more ISIS leaders than any other terrorist organization. It's kind of crazy how the Caliph average only two years in "office" before being hunted down and killed. Thus, true power in ISIS is in the hands of local commanders and cells. Their revenue was once half a billion dollars a year from direct taxation and oil trade, commanding control over a territory the size of the US state of Virginia. Today it's much smaller but doubtless receives millions of dollars through the drug trade and donations from Muslims throughout the world. ISIS is still able to exercise a monopoly on violence in large regions in Iraq and Syria. They also control territory in Libya, Nigeria, and other failed states. For instance, a month ago in the Central African Republic, ISIS forces actually overran and seized control over a Congolese army base in Butongwe. Last year alone, ISIS was responsible for over 400 attacks against various targets.
Al-Qaeda. My my my, how the mighty have fallen. Al-Qaeda is rapidly becoming a "who?" organization and only barely makes it to 5th place due to lingering name recognition. Responsible for attacks all over the shithole world numbering about 80 a year, they still technically control some territory in Somalia after Al-Shabaab pledged allegiance to the organization since 2012 in a bid to stay relevant. Which, I guess didn't pan out well. I shouldn't be too harsh on them as their revenue is (snickers) a super impressive 15 million a year. Mostly through Islamic donations, kidnappings, and extortions. Leadership is not what it once was. Since Zawahari was killed, there's no official leadership but Saif al-Adel is allegedly in command. This is of course not true as true power over action is in the hands of local commanders and regional cells. Still, better to be the Emir of Al Qaeda than the Calif of ISIS. They've only gone through 2 since Osama. ISIS has gone through at least 5 in the past 9 years.

This relatively powerful insurgent organization with membership approaching 10,000 armed fighters controls actual territory across two countries. They do actually control territory in northern Myanmar and India and are of the most powerful armed factions in the Myanmar Civil War, though not the primary one. Unlike the previous Islamic groups, The National Socialist Council has actually achieved some political objectives, securing "recognition" from India and compelling the government to sign a peace accord with them. ITT posts systems, mechanics, gimmicks that you've seen in videogames that you really like. I'll start. I've always loved it when a game has a smithing system. I really like how smithing works in Legend of Mana in particular. How you have this cascade of effects that can stack, because your mines/farms' quality impact the forging/tempering quality which then impact (if you get to it) the robots' quality--I love stacked modifiers like that and seeing things through an entire [craftsman] production process. Also, it's kind of dumb, but see each special weapon's gimmick in the Megaman series was always great. If you love gimmicks in games, Megaman always kind of felt like a bargain deal.

Living off the grid, or how to become independent from the System R: 113 / F: 15
I've been thinking about this topic for a long time, ever since I found /k/ a decade or so back on 4ch. The talk of "going innawoods" was fun, invigorating even, but it never really clicked, so to speak, until I took the red pill and awakened to our bleak reality and found the light of National Socialism. It all came to a head when I read the works of GLR; WLP, JM, and others. It is clear that the decadence of modern society and the dependence is creates in the average person are one of the greatest obstacles to the liberation of our race. Similarly, the surveilance and economic apparatus of the System poses a terrible risk to the security of revolutionary operations, given how many criminals and spies are brought down not by James Bond gadgets but by simple mistakes and clerical anomalies that create a paper trail. There's also an ideological angle behind the creation of this thread besides all the practical considerations, as we claim to reject the System, its values and tenets, it would be remiss of us to remain dependent upon it. Likewise, it'd be harder for anyone in our ranks to fall back into the System's clutches when there's an option for living outside of it, another way to lead one's life. I'm going to make it clear that I'm not advocating just retreating from society and for all of us to become hermits, as that would be ineffectual in the long run. There's only so many hiding places and there's only so long one can hide from the world before it knocks at one's door. The System must be overthrown, but in the meantime we must prepare ourselves to shield our ranks against it, and to offer as few opportunities for it to sink its barbs into us as possible. This is about opsec, healthier living, and building the foundations of a new world. To do that, we must make a list of the critical necessities we require for this purpose. >Living space A large part of the average people's unwillingness to act against their circumstances, much less strike at the System, is that they're too exhausted with working themselves to death on the jewish hamster wheel that is our economy, grinding day in and day out to scrape a meager living in overpriced living spaces and pay monstrous taxes that leave little time or resources for anything else besides trying to numb themselves with hedonistic pleasures. To say nothing of the catastrophic effect on the human psyche that result from living in a noisy, filthy, decaying, polluted, nigger-infested, crime-ridden urban hellhole. Therefore, it is a priority to find and build living spaces in which our people can live, grow, prosper and thrive. Small properties in the countryside are an obvious first choice. Abandoned structures in remote locations and self-built bunkers in the wilderness are also valid choices. A problem I can foresee is that isolated bunkers work well for small cells of revolutionaries but not for actual communities, let alone large ones. Compounding matters is that a known and publicly visible isolated community opens itself up to attack by the System on any flimsy pretext (as we all saw in Waco). I don't have a ready solution for this problem, but discussion is welcome. >Food Indispensable for human subsistence for any length of time. As we can all see food prices continue a perennial climb and people struggle more and more to afford groceries and thus work themselves to death on the hamster wheel, it is imperative for us to procure and cultivate our own food. Farms where we can grow our own vegetables and raise our own cattle are the obvious choice, though with the caveat that they require open spaces visible from th outside, and likewise open thsemvles to the System's predations. We should discuss alternatives to these activities, as a precaution in case they fail us. >Water Another indispensable necessity for human living, not just for human consumption but for hygiene and other purposes. We've long known that the System holds a near-monopoly on water sources, and on top of fleecing the citizenry for the right to it, said water is laden with fluoride and industrial waste when it isn't downright toxic to the human organism (as we can see from the ongoing decades-long debacle at Flint and others). Therefore, scouting and procuring sources of water outside the System's surveilance and control is imperative, as is researching and developing techniques for its purification and safe storage. >Power Technically not critical but still highly important, as we'll need electricity for multiple purposes in our efforts against the system. Heating, manufacturing, communications, and yes, computer systems. We won't get anywhere if the System can shut our power off because we're connected to its grid, failing and crumbling though it is. Therefore, we must constantly research and develop forms of power generation off the grid. >Communication Without communicating with one another we're helpless prey, headless chickens running in circles getting picked off by wolves and coyotes. It's vital to have a means of communication, from one operative to another and one cell to another. Phones and computers for the most part are verboten. The latter may be used for data storage, info gathering and so on, but for the most part we can't depend on these as phones are inherently vulnerable and every ISP and internet browser keeps records of your activities, to say nothing of online platforms. Discord is the obvious one, but supposedly secure ones like Telegram and Session are to be avoided. Radio is the most commonly recommended choice, so it's a good idea to get familiarized. There's cargo too heavy or voluminous for conveyance on foot, and so a vehicle is needed. The problem is that every vehicle that isn't a bycicle is registered and logged in some database, so any operative using his own vehicle is running a massive risk if someone can get a good look at his plates. Another issue is maintainance and fuel consumption, both quite expensive and difficult to procure (the former especially). Any resistance cell will have to contend with this issue and find a way to acquire a vehicle that cannot be tied to them, as well as handling maintainance and fuel procurement that won't create a paper trail for the System's goons to follow to their doorstep. >Money The sad reality is that as much as we reject the System, we still need to interact with it in the process of dismantling it, as money has its uses in revolutionary activities. This is a long overdue state of the site address. ZZZ has been languishing for a while now and as its admin I can only take responsibility for this and work to address/reverse it. I will not be making excuses, I can only offer this and future changes as a mea culpa. With that said, here is the plan for changes going forward. All feedback and suggestions are welcomed, I just ask that you stay on topic and keep the shitposting light and tasteful. Site Maintenance - I will be updating jschan this Sunday evening and I will be performing monthly updates going forward. I will look into properly automating this but you'll have to excuse my paranoia when I've had debian fucking brick itself updating because I tried to install a more recent version of ffmpeg. Consider this the initial shit test for the rest of the plan. -I'll be paying more attention to /meta/ in general, specifically bug reports. The current bug thread will be edited with a guide on submitting a helpful bug request. -I'll be fixing the text errors across the site as well. - I have a WIP custom docker image for jschan that I have picked back up, this will ease automation of updates and other management tasks once complete. Current progress is around 80%. This would also speed up a full redeployment if needed as it would handle redis etc. - All recent (last ~6 months+) hiccups in site performance have been downstream of the proxy hosting provider (although some were due to massive attacks on major infrastructure). I use this provider because they explicitly state that they do not care about cartoons in their TOS. If anyone is aware of any provider with a similar policy (and preferably accepts monero) please let me know so I can set up a proper failover. If I can brag about one thing, ZZZ has always had a robust backup system. All site data and configs for all parts of the infrastructure have encrypted backups. It has always been the case that if all ZZZ servers were to vanish overnight I could rebuild the site within 24 hours (would mainly be waiting on upload to the new server). Moderation This has been a consistent pain point for us since day one. Recruiting is difficult when each moderator represents 1% of the board or more and this put us in a 'take all comers' position by necessity, for better or worse. -I have not been able to spend as much time as needed moderating the site. All I can say is that I'm going to have more time available going forward. -We need volunteers, and we need to vet them better. I already require all mods to be in contact with me over matrix. This is done because we need some form of coordination and matrix has proven to be more reliable than other privacy focused apps. -We've had a consistent pattern of one anon really stepping up for /b/ on his own and eventually burning out. We need multiple active mods at once to both lighten the load AND keep each other accountable. -I am opening applications for /b/ specifically, with other board applicants welcomed too (you will be put into contact with the respective BO to finish with them). You will be expected to run these cases by other mods when starting out. -Applicants will be kept under watch for a few weeks by other mods. They'll be expected to sound off on exactly what they're doing in matrix. -I'll be setting up a dedicated moderation feedback thread here on /meta/ for disputing moderation action. All parties will be expected to be civil in this thread but it will serve as a sort of courtroom watched by all globals. Any mod other than myself that deletes posts in this thread will be reprimanded, and I will only clear out blatant spam. You are welcome to use archives to hold me to that. -For things like getting wrongly word filtered, please appeal those bans when letting us know, it makes cleaning out the filters and lifting the ban much easier. -I will be cleaning up the rest of the pinned /meta/ threads. -I am considering a very basic automated janny, some self-hosted LLM doing a basic check on the live global feed for known spam patterns which would be more sophisticated than current string filtering. This is still in the idea phase but I'd like to hear any concerns from you and any proposals for checks and balances on such a system. I am not proposing anything as "active" as hoihoi. -Global reports can be used if you feel something really needs my attention, not just moderation action. I just ask you use this sparingly and do not spam it. Reporting something multiple times doesn't increase visibility. -And finally, Joyeuse. Yes, he is often overzealous but he is also consistently putting in the work, especially during off hours for US timezones. If you want him doing less, take work from him by volunteering. Community -I have always been a lurker, and this has led to very minimal interaction between myself and all of you. I will be creating Quarterly Q&A threads here on meta going forward where I will answer questions about the site (with fun allowed and maybe guest appearances). Consider this thread to also be the first proper Q&A, with another being scheduled for late may and the proper quarterly ones starting in august (ZZZ's birth month). That's today, ~5/31, August, November etc. -The most recent Q&A will be left up and open in the interim. -For news, we need more events. Not giving Tengu the ability to write news was a missed opportunity, but a /news/ thread for submissions might be fun (gamenight exploits, recap of the week's movies between >>>/vhs/ & >>>/bmn/, anything). What say you? -I will need to do some footwork talking to respective organizers for this but I can make proper site-wide announcements/a ZZZ calendar for things like gamenights, move nights/streams etc. Open to ideas here. -I have also set up a dedicated ZZZ streaming server that has been tested by c0de over at >>>/bmn/ for a few months now. I'd love to host another VintageStory server Growth and Advertising First of all, word of mouth advertising clearly did not pan out. This was evident years ago and I should have been active from the get go. There are some major difficulties here. A majority of the old 8ch diaspora have moved on to twitter/poast/fedi as well as very insular discord enclaves. The brutal reality is that we likely aren't going to win these anons back with just the IB format, but we might just win them over with events. The good news is that there are enough of them that if even a fraction are enticed back, we'll be booming. The hardest part is going to be clawing back to a self sustaining userbase. Here's some ideas, I need your feedback here more than anything: -Set up on poast/wider fedi to start, and regularly link to threads for gamenights/movie streams as they happen. -Twitter seems like either too much or the wrong kind of attention. -Tongue-in-cheek propaganda/adverts featuring ztan. -Some boards have enticing OC, will be talking to some BOs about using it. -Anything you guys can think of, this is my weakest area. This is what's going to require the most work on my part, and while I'm not a very good salesman I'm willing to put in the work if you'll work with me a little bit.
