How do you guys think Sony will go about the handheld market going forward? It seems they always did something different, with the PocketStation it was more of a gimmick meant to enhance the PlayStation, then for the PSP and PS Vita they tried to make a portable PS2 and PS3 that were their own devices, though by the end of the Vita's life they essentially tried to rebrand it as a PS4 companion since it failed as a dedicated handheld, and for the PS Portal it feels like they either gave up on trying to beat Nintendo in the handheld market, while also trying to do the Switch's hybrid model on stronger hardware, and I guess this was the way to do it.
Will Sony throw their hat in the ring again with a new PSP/PS Vita or will they keep the PS Portal model? Or perhaps ditch the enrire concept of handhelds yet again? I recall that before the PS Portal they sort of tested the waters with the Backbone One PS Edition, I guess they could also just make a smartphone/tablet controller too.
