YouTube has made a new change to their systems that alters how you download videos with yt-dlp
Over the past couple days, I've noticed that some of the batch downloads of videos I've been yanking from JewTube do not collect the proper video title of the file being downloaded and instead have the file titled as "youtube video #XXX", with the "XXX" being whatever the watch URL is on JewTube. In addition, while it does collect the usual content, these downloads are now lacking the description file. Everything else operates properly.

I've yet to extensively test what causes this to "trigger", but I think it's somehow related to the previous system that blocked downloads unless you fill out the YouTube captcha.
Didn't know where else to post this.

I'm kinda on the fence concerning blind vs scripted game streams, what ultimately matters to me is the host speaking during the playthrough and adding something of his own to the game. I enjoyed the demo. Wish it had more vehicles on both sides. It has some buildings you can occupy but I was disappointed by the lack of interiors and Z levels. The gameplay is not without depth but, yeah, it's strange how no one can make anything as mechanically advanced as a 30 year old game that could run on a modern toaster's microcontroller. They're also doing EA so see you in 2030 when they pretend it's finished and abandon it.

Also, as a quick question, what's a good headset with microphone combo? Since my Sound Blaster is getting a little old, and it's fritzing out lately, I think I need to buy a new one. The only requirements I have is that it's still supports audio jacks, and that the microphone and speaker connectors are seperate.

Standalone microphone+IEMs are cheaper and higher quality than any headset you can get unless you spend over a hundred dollars but if you have to have one  that's cheaper  go with the hyperx cloud 3 it's the least shit of all the options.

oh it turns out the yuv420p did "work" the first time, it was just completely black when previewed on the PC, so i assumed something was fucked up
in VLC it's pitch black
in windows media player it's almost pitch black with the text slightly visible
browsers and phones play normally

ideally the output would play on both pc and mobile but deleting vlc might be the better alternative

How about instead of using the format video filter, you give ffmpeg -colorspace bt709 -color_trc bt709 -color_primaries bt709 -color_range tv -pix_fmt yuv420p instead?
I got it to convert your first video to yuv420p successfully.

I couldn't get my phone's gallery app to decode it either, but your 420p video worked.
However with the Android mpv port it can play both though, 444p through software and 420p through hardware.

Using -pix_fmt yuv420p alone should do the trick, it's what I use when re-encoding my yuv444p or rgb24 videos for the web.

If you're using Android, try installing mpv and playing the yuv444p video there. You can install mpv from F-Droid.
With that being said, you should stick to yuv420p when your target is anything other than mpv/vlc on PC.

yuv444 h.264 is not supported on a lot of browsers for some reason, probably for patent reasons.

Might as well just encode with SVT AV1 at this point unless your target decoder is a piece of shit with a half melted cpu.

without setting the color range ffmpeg won't actually output yuv420p but yuvj420p which apparently breaks some stuff

all this bullshit with color spaces and limited ranges seems like high order retardation to me, couldn't they have just used rgb?
