The problem is entirely within Ontario, that's why Alberta wants to be the 51st us state and Saskatchewan is also declaring their intent to push for secession to be 52nd. 

"Can't get the votes" they proved they can, most Albertans who say they want to stay in Canada vote to leave. Like how trump got on, rightoids pretending to be leftards for good boy points from their social cliques.

"Exit payments" yes, Alberta would owe 4 billion, but Canada would owe Alberta 6 billion, so Alberta gets paid to leave Canada immediately after leaving.

"You'd have to do x y and z" sure, and? What's the point? We have multiple solutions to things like money and government, this is the good part of separation: self governance. Plus if we join the USA it's not us immediately going from one master to another, as wed be in a better spot to rule ourselves as a us state than we would have as a fully independent one.

I'm Native and the Native's in Canada are like jews, they want to stop ALberta from seceding. When that would benefit them as well. But I guess they'd have to work. And that is too difficult I guess. I think it was misguided aggression from the debeers company. New diamond mined opened in canada and diamonds started depreciating in value, looking at only the numbers i go after the competition. Artificial diamond industry exploded in east asia, was much bigger than i think most people thought. Wired did an article on the semi precious crystal industry that blew up in china; it was huge, but that would be a great way to recoup losses on failed artificial gems. That specific town was running on gambling mechanics to survive when the article was written   quotes spoke of it being a bubble that had popped.
