I don't actually interact with boomers much. Today I had to wait around in an office break room. There was a TV playing NBC news at MAX fucking volume.
Suddenly, boomer women filtered into the room to eat boomer food. They all turned their faces up at the mighty TV to hear the news.
I don't own a TV and cannot imagine why anyone would own one. But even I am totally unbothered by the stories NPC news went with.
The first one was about some woman who was being stalked. Then they talked about a man who killed his brother's family,. Then they talked about the mosque shooting.
Stalking and fratricide and being a Muslim are all bad. But multiple boomers went
>oh my!
>oh dear
>good grief!
at these bland stories. Like, wow, stuff happens, how exciting.
I guarantee you that these boomer ladies oh-my at every story the TV goes with every single day of their office lives.
And it helped me finally understand why boomers are such political dweebs who fall for shit every time. They really do get excited by what the TV has to offer. They're like children watching Cocomelon. They're just excited by flashy graphics and serious news cadence. Every bland, run of the mill news thing is exciting to them. It's like it's the first time every time. Why this is is one of life's great mysteries, but it does explain boomer political positions.
