Does anyone here own a motorcycle/car? Do you have any thoughts to share or funny anecdotes?
I barely hear anyone ever mention the topic so I guessed I would make a thread about it.

As for me, I've got a bike recently for a bargain price when the seller smashed against some construction site's fences AFTER inviting me over to see the product.

fucking cars are a money sink, my shit is over 20 years old, gotta replace the timing belt at some point, but I don't want to take all that shit apart
The top of the gas pump had a crack in it for years, and leaking gas on the plug that goes into it, replaced that, but sometimes the lines going to the pump loosen and I got to take the seat off to put them back on. I got to get new tires at some point, and I hate insurance companies, it should be law that they can only get like 20$ a month just for liability

Neets can't buy such an expensive thing. I made like three autistastic vehicle threads though despite this and none of them took off. I merely posted vehicles that looked strange of which I liked the looks of. If I ever put that much money into something I'd want it to be customized or special in some way. I hate mandatory insurance also and the fact that you basically have no rights as soon as you hop into a car pisses me off to no end as you need a vehicle to be independent due to the fact that jobs are spaced out. No one is in charge that takes an ebike to work as managers semeingly always live one city over or more, sometimes driving for hours to get to work so as to avoid expensive rent (I know this from research not personal experience). What that means for a poor person is that if one lives in a happening place one would get the expensive rent and have no money if the poorfag didn't have a car. Happeneing palces are where the jobs are of course so it's a catch-22 if you were not born in a happening place so as to save up as a child, asssuming anyone gave you a job underage (lol no experience). Then again, another catch 22, if you were born in a happening place your mommy and daddy would just gift you a care anyway. I'm poor and neither of my parents even own a car nor home and we live in bumfuck nowhere. I have not driven a car since 2012. Now that I have a job in bumfuck all the kids that work are of richer blood than me, don't live nearby, and do not get there on foot nor by bicycle, not most of them. One of them that does that's underage has an ebike that basically looks like a motorcycle, putting mine to shame. Some ebikes cost more than cars, thousands of dollars, and the boy's hair is an expensive perm despite being white and he has a nose peircing. Seeing this and remembering me not getting a job as a boy I'm pissed off for just one more reason after many other reasons in this gay as shit life.

Also, even if they are successful adults, people here are paranoid about data mining and they act like the CIA will come snatch them if someone figure out the make and or year of their car. It's sad because no one here is likely important at all, and if they are they already know everything about you. The world is a big place and owning some 1951 Studebaker Champion won't get you noticed by an anon either, and if it did you're going to have to follow the guy, get shot by the 38 special, and die. I wish I had a Studebaker from the 1950s and I wish i had a Vepsa from the 1950s but all I could afford was the special gun.

>open source car
I wish I lived in some nation that let me have some homemade car or strange electric vehicle. Vehicles could be so cheap but they are now no longer cheap. Regulations used to be lax, no mandatory insurance when these old men were younger that are now in charge and other things were not there. No zero tolerance, no loitering laws, no mandatory ABS, etc etc.

>img 1: what the chinks can have now and we used to be allowed to make
>img 2: too expensive for me to buy
>img 3: ironically cheapest option and fastest so must buy eventually
>img 4: the car I will be forced to totally buy instead of which is why no car threads will ever happen

Okay rant over. Now for a funny anecote: One time someone would not let me pass as I drove in bumfuck. I got next to him and he speed up. For some reason he kept slowing down the closer I got, "brake cheking me I suppose". I got parrelel to him and intended to pass and then anturally the wild faggot speed up faster than my car could go, trying to force me to adhere to the speed limit in bumfuck. I just drove right next to him without looking and together we drove a jeap into the ditch. It nearly flipped over and I kept going in the lft lanre while he stopped like the pussy he is. Damn him wherever he may be, forcing me to risk my life to prove how much of a faggot he is. One other time I saw an old HS bully at my college. I got really close to him and considred braking. I did not and he looked pretty scared as I nearly hit him in the college parking lot. I never saw him again after that. It may have had something to do with the look on my face as I was shocked at myself so I probably was doing the grudge face, of which is hilarious when you think about it that way. To only have been born into a pre1980s society I would have fucked so much normalfaggot shit up, you know, before cameras were everywhere. Now that there are I am entitled to a cheap electric vehicle that does not exist and or cheap used cars that are ironically more expensive than the newer ones. Now that we are all more intelligent we should have more rights not less, but-- oh no, I stated to rant again. That's my bad.

tl;dr: cars, like everything else, used to be good, and I'm 'driven' mad by just another thing the society gave me to mull over. I like now strange vehicles and also illegal vehicles from China.

Etc. Androids not having spellcheck is so fucking stupid. I hate this tablet but refuse to fix my computer. The cmos is dead and it's burried so far up my Thinkpad's ass that it may never be retrieved. Why does it care what time it is? Fuck clocks, making me tell it what time it is every time it powers off. They're cheap. Hang me.

I would eventually like to get a bike, but I'm trying to save money right now and I'm also in a climate where I wouldn't want to ride around in for most of the year. After I hopefully move out of the state/country, it's on my list.

That is so obnoxious. I'm putting it off for now and hope that nobody cares.
In fact, the cops stopped me the other day and didn't even ask for it, go figure.

Had the same issue with my old Lenovo, That motherfucker is soldered in, and buried under 8 layers of "Take it apart to get to it", so I just opted to constantly keep synchronizing it with time.gov

You could always do what I did and buy a good condition Stinkpad that powers on but is missing things like the battery and RAM sticks,(LOTTA that going on the days,) and mix and match.

As to OP's Topic:
Cash for Clunkers really fucked everyone under Boomers in the used car market.
You used to be able to drive around in the countryside and there would most always be several decent, working, old trucks and cars for sale, usually under $2000.
I have never had a car payment, since I always paid cash outright, and up until 2005, you could still work on most vehicles yourself for most repairs.

I actually have to replace all my power steering lines in my truck soon. If you need to buy parts for your car/truck/etc. rockauto is a lifesaver.
You can get parts there for way less than at the local autoshop,(who likely just buys them there as well and then marks them up 1/2 the time)

It's a Chinese replica of the Honda XR.
It's ok, the electric system was messed up so I had to connect the headlight directly to the battery. Other than that is fine.

I despise everything east of the Mississippi except some tourist beach towns and New England which I simply could never fit in with those people (who are the nicest I've met by region nonetheless) nor did I stay that long in, I have only driven through Appalachia on a round trip so I can't pass judgement. When I crossed the state line from Kansas to Missouri I internally balked at how fucking ugly this country, buildings and people, are. Louisiana is so unappealing to look at that after a while I began to like it, pic related doesn't do it justice as you're driving over that old rusted concrete bridge coming to face with dilapidated houses before getting on a wider highway (I-12?) and see a bunch of fucking billboards in the middle of the city, it's Dixie's New Jersey, that whole riverfront feels like it'd give you tetanus merely strolling through it and the realization that at least it has character, same for New Orleans even if you should never visit. Texas is awful like California with the highways, traffic, demographics, and sprawl without any charm the latter has. Kansas gets knocked as the most boring state to drive through but half of it is level-flat with no trees which you can't get anywhere else, and the Flint Hills feel like America. I was only briefly in New Mexico but everything I have seen and heard of it from people who actually visited essentially say it's third-world.

Those Chinese things are interesting. They're a reliable Honda design but half-assed quality parts and assembly. I can't bring myself to hate them because it allows poor people in America so all of America now, if we're being real to get into motorcycles. The people who complain most about them are boomers and genX snobs, unsurprisingly.
My answer to them is, boohoo faggot we live in hard times now and that means that an entry level motorcycle made by the big 4 costs more that the pocket change and cheese sandwich it did back in your heyday, old man.

KEK!
That reminds me of a anecdote:
>be me
>early 20s, working in a restaurant in a college town
>basement kitchen, dishtank was up 40 steps on the main level.
>the main dishwasher was this squirrelly looking hick from the next town over
>calls in says he's going to be a little late
>shows up 10 minutes late, dinner rush is still ½hour away
>kitchen manager pulls me off the line and says "You gotta see this man--you won't believe it"
>go out front to where the dish guy's 1980's beater truck is parked, hood's open
>"Look at that!--you ever see THAT Before?"
>fuel pump had gone out and dudeguy had rerouted the windshield wiper fluid lines from the gas tank through the wiper fluid pump and into the carburetor
>We stood there open mouthed while he quietly said "yeah, it worked pretty good, I just hadda keep pooshin' on that there button, ever time she started to quit on me"

Just goes to show, everybody has their Genius.
This guy drove that way for 23 miles...To wash DISHES!

I'm convinced there's some retard out there who somehow, almost magically, can make incredible hotdogs out of the shittiest ingredients. like all dollar store stuff, but somehow, the result rivals that of a $12 "City dog"

On a personal note, on topic, I'm going to have to replace all my Power steering lines in my truck.
Not looking forward to it, but it shouldn't be too bad.
Had to Tap out and helicoil one of my sparkplugs once too. Not too bad considering the white knuckling of knowing if you fuck it up the truck's motor is TRASH.
Pro-tip: buy the BEST tap kit you can afford, they aren't that bad pricewise.

News on the bike: After noticing some serious blisters forming in my hands I concluded that maybe I should change the god-awful handle grips (1st pic) for something that doesn't turn my hands into swollen red stumps (2nd pic).
The difference is so stark I can't for the life of me guess why would anyone in their right mind use motocross grips for anything, including motocross.
