My air conditioner made a loud, two second grinding sound. An hour later I flicked on my light switch to discover that sound was it killing this fella and spewing his legs all over my table.

I think I encountered these in a window unit once and they got gassed when I turned it on and then I got gassed. Never saw any evidence, but you wouldn't want to imagine the smell.
