I have a geimu nook in my room with a CRT and old consoles. It just feels cozier than playing them on my monitor.
PS1 with burnt games, PS2 on HDD+memcard exploit. I haven't made the Saturn to work with a chip so I might just buy one of those ODEs one day.

I've heard Saroo it's really good. You just get it on those chink websites.
I've wanted to install PSBBN on my PS2, but the HDD port doesn't load the HDD, so I'm stuck playing PS2 on my PS3. I'm gonna buy a chipped PS1 to play at 240p.

Can't find a genuine Network Adapter? Playing with BBN might be cool but I'm also kind of glad that I stocked up on DVDs so I don't have to deal with that crap.
Replies: >>307295 >>307296

I do have it, but it doesn't load my HDD after installing the SATA adapter, nor does it load it with my fake adapter, so I'm guessing the port in the console is bad. Either that or I messed up the adapters when I tried to combine them.
Do you play burnt games with OPL? I might do that instead. I used to play games off a usb, but the cutscenes were choppy.

Saroo cartridges are chinky garbage that can fry in under a month. Better to shell out the money on something that will last you a couple decades hopefully.
I love having my burnt CD collection, that is, unless I have to deal with stupid bullshit, and PS1 and a chip just werks™.
>>307294
You're not going to find a genuine HDD adapter with a SATA plug. Settle for one the chinky ones unless you intend to plug in your 40GB IDE hard drive stocked with a grand total of less than 9 games.

Just Saroo in particular? Cuz I bought chink SFC, Genesis, and N64 flashcarts and they have lasted me over a year now.

I have a slim so I just ran MechaPwn once and now everything werks using FMCB from the OSD. I haven't tried any dual layer games yet but games that don't work with the master disc patch will usually coldboot just fine with ESR.
>>307297
SAROO uses some EOL chips and when you buy from chinkshit sites that means you pay for floor sweepings. Supposedly SAROOs marked "elite" are made with NOS parts but if I had a Saturn I would just shell out for a Fenrir instead.
>>307297
>>307297
Saroo is not a flashcart however. It's a 6M-in-one cart that, amongst other things, lets you bypass copy protection. Kind of like an Action Replay cart, really.
From what I've read it has no shielding and components are PRC-approved donkey poo. ODEs are expensive but the Saroo isn't all that cheap either, $40 on a bootleg cartridge with suicidal tendencies as opposed to ~$140 for the ODE.
Replies: >>307305
>>307300
Ackshually, SAROO is an ODE; it emulates the entire CDB controller in an FPGA. That's why a bunch of games need hacks in a config file to run properly, it doesn't emulate the delay timing of a real drive so if the game depends on those delays due to a bug it has to be told to fake it.

I only have a Nintendo DS Lite and the flash cart is broken. But it's probably not worth replacing it, since everyone has moved to 3DS. I went the other way intead: back to 8-bit!

>Do you emulate old consoles or play in original hardware with flashcarts/modded and burnt discs?
I emulate them on my chinkheld, but i wish i could play on original hardware and CRT screen.
Unfortunately, i don't have the space to keep all the consoles and burnt disks.
>I have a geimu nook in my room with a CRT and old consoles. It just feels cozier than playing them on my monitor.
I am sure it is cozier, lucky you.
Unfortunately, i don't have the space to keep all the consoles and games to do that.

I mean, half my room is my bed and closet. It's like desk, chair, bed all back to back. The only clear floor room is my way to the door which is like a 4 feet away. The CRT TV doesn't allow the door to open all the way.
But hey, it's cozy.

I like to play in original hardware whenever I can. I would like to have a CRT but last one I had broke long ago. Finding a new one now is pretty expensive and I don´t know where it could fit in my room so to play pre-6 gen games I use filters that I think resembled more how my old CRT would look.

Especially if you have a nice looking frontend with the games' covers and screenshots.
I am about to move to another town, and the physical games I still have (GameBoy, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, Switch, PS4) are already a pain in the ass to gather and package, I don't even want to imagine if I still had my PS1, PS2 games and my older brother's Mega Drive cartridges.

Emulashion 4 me.
Just makes it easier. I have freemcboot for my ps2 but most games run fine and I can make them look really nice. There is an appeal to og hardware I will say.
>>307290 (OP)
I have a PS2 with an HDD for games and also a Wii but I'm procrastinating on getting a CRT TV to play on those. I used to have a flat TV with composite ports which I used to set up the PS2, but the TV soon broke and the new TV I have at home only has HDMI.
My PC isn't too powerful, so PS2 and GameCube/Wii emulation often lags.

I'm well off and had other devices before, I just stopped enjoying modern video games as much and streamlined emulation to my more versatile devices I thought were more comfortable, but I still have a laptop to play anything more modern I like, I just don't often have the interest, nor much time as I find most modern titles too long and bloated, free time is rarer...

>play on original hardware
>fear it will beak any second
>play on new computer through emulator
>planned obsolescence means it will break any second
<am I stuck or is it a emu glitch...?
>download entire rom set
>never decide what should play
>make new computer or buy new emu device
>spend all your time tweaking it's settings
>never play anything
>start to play
>need to go to work or use the restroom, sleep, etc
>never play the game
I use emulators and all my old consoles are broken for years now. Well, most of them are. Some got lost too. I'm tempted to alter my Gamecube and play games on it as that'd be my fav console if it had an sd for gamecube games and a gba cart for it's gba player that I do own. If I get a monitor for it, that's gb, gbc, gba with it's snes and nes flashbacks, and gamecube. The snes, nes, gb, gamegear, n64, psx, etc that I have can be ignored and if I'm on a pc I'm going to be distracted by the Internet anyway and such. If you use save states you never 'level up' mentally and never really play a game that way too, so the gamecube will be my serious gaming rig eventually.
>goes to work instead and comes back stressed into drinking booze while watching 20+ year old tv shows

And yes the gamecube was the best controller.

You can use any computer to emulate. You can even have it boot directly into emulator, and then you don't fuck around on internet.

That's a catch 22, having control to not put raspbian on the thing so as to avoid watching 20+ year old tv shows on the thing while accessing the Internet. Those things are overrated also and underpowered last I messed with one. People always have to alter the config.txt and overdclock them. With how fast sds go bad and with how bitrot is what I really want is a time machine and a bunch of shekels so I can have a ton of real carts and discs as these things are old now. If there was a video game genie, not referencing the genies for cheat codes, but if there were a video game genie that granted me only one console and all the games you could play on it the gamecube is the best without regard to emulators. With emus and hackery and such you end up on the Internet and watching tv shows and such, it's just how it is. You can't just choose to go online, order a pi, program it whle sitting next to a computer you're addicted to without being tempted to make it into another backup computer.

I have two pis. I have several handheld chinkset emus. It all just makes me find each new device less interesting.

Some of the ARM boards have a SATA interface, and the A20 boards don't even cost that much. It might be hard to find those now, except the Olimex ones. But I'm just guessing, maybe there's loads of OG Banana Pis on ebay. I don't go there or anywhere else that a plain old HTML browser doesn't work, so I have no idea.
And if A20 is too slow, there's newer SoCs like Rockchip (Pine64 ROCKPro64).
But anyway the RPi Descent pic was just an example. Pretty much any old computer is good enough to run emulators.

> what I really want is a time machine and a bunch of shekels so I can have a ton of real carts and discs as these things are old now.
That's pretty far-fetched. You should instead just stop going to youtube altogether. Those sites are just a waste of time now anyway, with all the AI + ads and tracking, etc. In fact, most of the internet is now just a waste of time. I'm pretty happy with my HTML only browser, because when a site blocks me with "enable javscript and cookies to continue" then I already know it's been compromised.

No one was conversing about jewtube. Every website is compromised. If all I like is from 20+ years ago I probably wish I had a different childhood and are too old/burned-out to re-do everything as an adult. These pis are 64 bit computers with 32 bit software on them, aren't they? They could have mali gpus and play any android game that is ported, but no, they're gay. The next pi I'm buying would be an orange pi as they are more compatible with things but at that point I'd just not and buy another android device instead. It's jewgle android, yeah, but it's cheaper, easier, and has more features. A pi is going to waste all my energy setting it up and tweaking it and they are overpriced and underpowered and stragely programmed.

For the record I knew about emulators since like 2003. I don't care. The meme-text was meant to convey how it's not worth it if I'm wondering if I'm stuck or if it's a glitch or bitrot. Any old computer would lag the shit out of a gamecube game, I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre that was making me stop and tweak while playing dolphin. The computer is from like 2012 or it was 12 years old, I don't remember which, and has a 2.9 ghz CPU.
>just switch computers
Hence NEW computer, not brand new but NEW, and then I'd have to wait over9k hours watching my files transfer, of which I am procrastinating, and then when it says dirty file or some such I'll have to stress over that after watsing an entire day off seeing if it copies over properly. Sounds like so much 'fun' so I can then look forward to tweaking the emulators. "zomg my controller did not map correctly lemme updoot my controller'.

You should git gud. Try to exercise that empathy muscle a little more to understand other people's internal mental state that may act completely differently from your own. For example, this guy might be a lower tier spic instead of a god-tier perfect ubermensch pure-blooded Aryan like yourself.
To explain it, one technique commonly used to help maintain discipline is to extend the inconvenience to obtain something. For example, in the marshmallow test, kids who resisted eating the marshmallow would use techniques like:
- Cover up the marshmallow with a plate.
- Turn around 180 degrees and not look at the marshmallow.
- Move their chair away from the table with the marshmallow on it.
- Distract themselves by singing.
I think what that poster is saying is that if they have a device without internet on it, it's like the kid who is pushing their chair away from the marshmallow, and under such an environment they are able to keep internal discipline and avoid watching the eternal Jew.

You assumed jewtube and or normalfag sites are what is distracting me when I waste horus lurking this website after hours of work and then I also watch the the tv show for hours.
Computers use:
>5 hours tv (Offline but used online software and data to set this up
>interwebery of sleepy, (window) shopping, planning, looking up facts, porn, etc, several hours
>stricly business, 45 minutes
>also worked 8 hours
>have to sleep for at least 8
>8 + 8 + 45 minutes plus 3ish hours plus 5 = 22ish hours
>implying I'm going to use those last 2 hours on video games when people talk to me irl as I do not live alone
>30 minutes go into cat
>45 minutes go into healthcare, hygiene, cooking, cleaning, etc
What time is even left? WHy not attack that 5 hours? Video games are hard work and I just blew my payload via working.

It ain't jewtube though, nor is it actual social media, though it be saved videos and imageboard(s). What website isn't compromisied? Do you think that is cloudflare free air you are breathing now, Neo?

So you rewatch the same fucking videos every day and you lurk altchans, which get like 20 posts per day on average.
Come on dude no one believes you. You either waste your entire day on youtube and 4chan, which can be solved by just downright disabling judaicscript like that other nigga said, or you need to slow down with the fucking tv shows, you cant watch 5 hours a day and then complain you have no time to play.
