I know you're all fresh off the boat from cuckchan and were in elementary school the last time they pulled this trick, but it's far from new. Miyamoto's known to be a closet furry and, like Osamu Tezuka, it's only gotten worse with age.

modern Nintendo is creatively bankrupt. The last good original thing they did was Splatoon.
>>307204
They look like a melding of the puppets and the modified Assault designs from Tr4sh and later, with stock Unreal shaders and a detail boost because Switch 2 still somehow doesn't have an eye candy game to show off the hardware. I actually like them, the real problem is this is the third time (counting Zero) they've remade 64 when they have 2 right there to steal from.

It's... because I actually played it and the lag is so severe in most cases that going through games without people disconnecting for no reason is not possible. That and the very big latency you get on everything. Trying to find lobbies is also extremely hit and miss.
If you can find a way to actually patch that out and host it in a stable way, then more power to you.
I don't know how you'd even get banned for saying nigger since, well, there's no real chat in this game. And I don't believe it's possible to name yourself negroid or something similar.

It's just the fucking Smash/Assault design with actual fur/feathers instead of a texture and clothing details added because it doesn't have to be rendered together with seven other retards on a phone chip. The biggest changes are the high collars and those weird belts over the shoulders. I know you think being edgy and blindly shitting on everything means you fit in but the models are the least dumb part of this whole affair. Speaking of which where's the gameplay video?

They're pretty obviously based off of the original pitch puppets as in >>307197

The deeper discussion to be had feels more like Miyamoto is going mask off with remaking the tried-and-tested designs with his original vision for what he thinks they should have been (back when hardware limitations prevented his vision), before he retires. Mario was been redesigned to be more like the SNS proportions in Mario Wonder (despite the mathematically perfect Mario that was official about a decade back), Pauline brought back from the graveyard of broken ideas, Donkey Kong got reverted to the point it might have killed a console, Rosalina essentially getting an entire movie just to "fix" that she had a story to Miyamoto's chagrin, Link's Awakening remade in the toybox style, now Star Fox.
If that is the case, it might just be Jap boomerisms that he's not expressing that it's just his swansong self-reward for being a pillar of the industry, and not a long-term permanent redesign.

Quick reminder that Shigeru Miyamoto is 73 years old. He's over a decade past retirement. If he was an employee and not a manager, he would have been legally forced to retire in 2018.

Having human length proportions for the upper bodies just looks weird compared to prior designs feeling more stocky. And even if it’s meant to resemble the old SNES/SFC box art puppets, those still look better than what they have going on here in terms of head to torso.

Then there’s suggestion of the mammalian characters now walking on just their toes and balls of their feet instead of the whole foot? Do they not realize how weird that comes off as for humanoids? Like yeah, it’s more realistic to most mammals, and when it comes to bipeds, humans really are the weird ones for walking with the whole foot on the ground (plantigrade rather than digitigrade). But every other biped (all birds, some dinosaurs) or obligate biped (kangaroos, wallabies, and a few hopping rodents when actively moving; otherwise they're almost more pentapedal due to their tails) is built with the torso and abdomen in a much more horizontal alignment, depending on how their mass is distributed. Try running on just your toes and balls of your feet. Try standing around for a while on just them. Sure, it’s doable, but it’s also really awkward to do let alone see.

Falco I will say has less problems in the latter department (sort of the way the Rito in modern Zelda games look), since his toes and claws seem long enough to keep him stable even with his legs being more "realistic", but not Fox or Peppy.
Looks ugly.
Also, if Smash 6 isn't announced this June, can we safely say that Ninty has moved on? The series needs to be taken to the back of the shed anyway.

That's a peculiarity of furgonomics people have been arguing about since at least the 1980s. You'll just have to accept that they wanted it for stylization purposes; my issue is that it makes the characters look very animalistic (which I personally like) but unfit for the human-style technology they interact with. A control panel for a character like nu-Fox or nu-Slippy would be wide and flat to accommodate their hunchback posture, but they're clearly shown to be more vertical as though they were humanoid.

It does feel like he's trying to change things to how he wants them to be. It's funny how their perfect Mario model is of NSMB Mario and then they go and downgrade him with Wonder and Kart World.
Nu-Donkey Kong is horrendous, he looks like shit and his new chungus personality is shit and ill-fitting. His Bananza portrayal is some of the worst character design I've ever seen. Not the same character anymore. Not that Miyamoto's DK and Rare's DK ever was the same character, and not that nu-DK even looks like arcade DK.

I'd welcome Miyamoto wrestling Zelda from Eiji "Link Should Look Androgynous" Aonuma's grip though, if that means he brings back an uglified version of NES Link and the feminine blob from BotW gets memory holed.

Holy shit I take it all back. They looked okay in the key art but as soon as you put them in an actual environment that doesn't have hero lighting for all of them and try to make them emote they all look weird. Peppy and Slippy oddly look the least ridiculous, though Slippy keeping his normal proportions while everyone else has tiny realistic eyes by comparison makes him uncanny in closeups. Why Miyamoto thought Falco would be improved by turning him into a giant blue chicken >>307264 is beyond understanding, even considering how senile he must be.

Nah, rendering realistic fur like this is still relatively expensive (though it's at least practical now, see Detective Pikachu) and they went with a very safe animooted appearance for his cameo in the Mario movie.

Namco suffered a catastrophic data loss in the middle of Assault's development and actually had to rebuild the game from scratch on a tight deadline. That's the reason it's so short and has a serious lack of Arwing stages. The one thing that's actually really nice about Assault is its expansive multiplayer battle mode. That always seemed tragic to me that it didn't support online multiplayer.
>>307397
That explains a lot. They announced an arcade game at the same time as Assault (probably based on the F-Zero AX motion cab) that quietly went away and I always thought it was odd how they blew their load revealing the space bugs in the first level when they could have stretched fighting Andrew through the first third of the game.

Interesting Miyamoto's a closeted furry and this supposedly appeals to him, because he seemingly doesn't like Star Fox much and after 64 he decided he's done with the series entirely. Star Fox became a brand to reach for when you need to carry a gimmick of your console. Uhhh we need to show off 3D! Uhhh we need to show off the second screen! This remake is going to be slightly more interesting, as there's no new gimmick to advertise, so they're now doing because remaking 64 appears to be some sort of pavlovian response at this point.

Then the 70's rolled around and they were left aghast over what creators like Go Nagai were getting away with when it came to series like Harenchi Gakuen, as they had been wanting to make similar works for years but thought people would reject it. You have to remember that the most "experimental" series that they had produced was something like Fantasy World Jun.

You talking about Doug Winger or someone else?

They weren't wrong, since IIRC the first big moral panic from anime and manga was caused by Devilman and Violence Jack. It's why censors get tetchy about gore in Japan to this day.
>You talking about Doug Winger or someone else?
Yeah, that asshole.

Maybe it's on all the sincerely insane >art that's been reposted on imageboards over the years, but the odds of the man himself getting the hots from man-made horrors not unlike the average autist on DA back in the day is not null.
Just my two cents, but perhaps it's trauma that fosters and funnels man's ambitions when creating art or pioneering technological achievements.

fify

And being turned on all the time will make people think differently than people less turned on all the time. They do not have to be dusturbed even if their art disturbs you. The younger and more innocent I was the more out there my sexual fantasies were so I know what i'm talking about. Now that I'm more 'natural' in my tastes I'm a disturbed adult. That's my wooden nickel.

The diaper image isn't even porn, that's a pun.

yeah she's a cat not a fox, has Dinosaur Planet actually been leaked or not yet?
It might've been but I don't remember. The lack of fox tits and how ugly any women are in the new animation makes me laugh. Fuck Nintendo.

>first one (1c5)
Probably the second best constructed but it's creator didn't really know how to do appealing faces or nipples.
>second one (2a1)
Not even really finished, looks like a WIP and yet he released it.
>third one (3c2)
Just an edited model with fucked up nipples.
>fourth one
Really like this one but it doesn't really resemble the actual in-game Krystal that much.
