In good gamenight fashion, here's some changes that were barely tested for you to try.

CHANGE LIST
>Acrobatics/tricks are disabled by default, and may be enabled by the randomizer mod
>Hellmaps are in the vote list by default and may be voted to be disabled through vote votable_hellmaps Off (and toggled back on with vote votable_hellmaps On)
>Hellmaps in the vote menu now have an icon overlay
>Decreased odds for all randomizer modifiers
>Changes in the game's code that only computer nerds FAGGOTS care about (switched to Zig build system, library dependencies gone, upgraded to SDL3)

Here's hoping nothing breaks.

You need Zig 0.15.2 to build it.
After installing it run zig build --release=fast in the source code's root folder, then copy the executable in zig-out/bin to your SRB2K folder.
I'll try updating the readme's build instructions later this evening

I'm on Linux. I can't get the game to use my gamepad. In the select gamepad menu, my gamepad is listed, but selecting it with Enter does nothing. I never had this problem in SRB2 Kart before.

OP can we just use regular Nep instead of your ebin custom version, as long as the tracks are present and acrobatics are enabled it should be fine.

Your Dualsense should work now, mine does at least.
The issue issue was that the the game was handling joystick IDs as indices since the SDL update.

FreeBSD can run software written for Linux, so if you can run it on Linux it could work on that too, you could even run the Windows version with Wine. OpenBSD cannot run Linux software, as it was disabled many moons ago due to security reasons, so you'd have to compile it yourself from the source code. Which is not necessary impossible, but there is a good chance that you'll encounter problems that require a software developer, so you might have to git gud.

Why is there no good way of loading addons when the server isn't up? The replay system crashes and there's so much shit to go through that making autoload.cfg work seems unreasonable. I just wanted to play some shit in the off-season man.

This Just Werks on my machine; no idea if filepath expansion is the same on windongs, but if not, I assume that you can pilot Notepad++ well enough to insert your install directory into each line. NB: this fag >>305177 included EVERYTHING that the server runs, so I got coop mode in time attack when I tested. Also consider:
./srb2kart -file mods/chars/* mods/loadfirst/* mods/tracks/*
although this loads EVERYTHING that you have downloaded, and expect it to throw a shitton of errors at you. I'd suggest making a new folder for your gamenight mods and using something like
./srb2kart -file mods/zzz/*
instead.
And remember to NOT change the filename, and to put it in your srb2kart install's base directory.

Sorry for the "necrobump", but does this game require phoning home to the developers in order to host a game? I tried hosting a game for some bros, and it froze, saying this in the logs:
>ERROR: Failed to contact rendezvous server (relay.kartkrew.org).
Apparently I accidentally broke the DNS on my Linux system some time before launching the game, and I promptly fixed the DNS issue (it wasn't able to resolve any domains, not just the "kartkrew" one), and that also fixed the issue with the game and I was able to host the game fine.
But what I want to say is that I still think it's concerning that you apparently can't host a game without connecting to this "kartkrew" server.
