Downloaded rimworld so I guess we are having a rimworld thread.
Any recommended mods? Also how the fuck do you pirate rimworld mods from steam, can't believe I just asked that question.

There used to be a lot of steam workshop download sites few years ago don't know if they still work.

You need to manually download them with steamCMD these days 
There is a couple programs/websites out there that download from the workshop but they all use the same commands and steamcmd, so better to just skip the middle man.
The command is basically "workshop_download_item GAME_ID MODPAGEID"
Game ID would be 294100 for rimworld and the mod page ID is whatever number come after "ID" in the URL of the workshop page.
Bit of a slow way to do it but it work.
Or you can always try to find a working fork of rimpy somewhere out there. But good luck with that.

This is probably one of the only games I don't mod outside of QoL shit because a lot of the mods demolish immersion.

Remove roofs, and if its not removable, construct pylons or leave an occasional bit to support the roof. You can try this with a large storage room or something, you need one wall/support every 6 tiles iirc. Your support can be destroyed by fire or mortars so its not a bad idea to have slightly more than the bare minimum, and make it out of granite if its indoors.

You know you can always just capture them, sterilise the women and use them as relief bags. The men make for delightful free doctor training dummies, and when they expire, they make for free gourmet meals you can feed said relief bags or a wonderful gifts for any neighbours.

While that's a fair thing to recommend, it only provide diminishing returns these days. You just gotta accept that the engine is going to shit the bed when you install too many mods.

Welcome to modding games in general.
I remember the mods being load order dependent to not produce a shit ton of errors back when I played the game. So that's something you might want to consider.
I also remember them fucking up your config files or whatever data they left over would end up producing errors even when they weren't being loaded.
And core stuff would always end up fighting each others when there were too many mods and fucking up the entire thing in random ways.
(Like prepare carefully ending up breaking a lot of functionality and other mods.)
I'd say maybe try to stick to either a couple QOL mods + a full set of something like VE or like 100-150 mods to make sure it doesn't shit the bed.

To run Rimworld in borderless:
1. Open Steam
2. Go to the Library
3. Right click on Rimworld and click Properties
4. Add "-popupwindow" without quotes in launch options
5. Have fun
