I noticed a while ago that even indie games aren't safe from being bad. I don't mean shovelware tier bad. I mean not living up enough to their standards type of bad.
Hello Neighbor for an example.

So I decided to ask what indie games you actually like

<Talking about indie games which have no such set standards as it's randoms
This feels like an AI post if not for the filename.

Maybe katana zero, because it wasn’t obnoxious, it really was just a game. Meanwhile Omori, I did enjoy it even though it’s overrated, but it was really obnoxious with its presentation and “we’re anime” feel. I also enjoyed Paradise Killer, they successfully captured the feel of Danganronpa and also made their own thing, exploring an open world and gathering clues however you like, while jumping across buildings was a very good idea, it should be implemented in an AAA game really, but it also suffered from obnoxiousness because many character designs were faggy.

One of my favourites if not the best one. It's really charming, has a 6 hours original OST and a fucking and the athmosphere is just fucking great.

Astlibra, though overrated, was decent enough to keep me engaged to the end. The level design and characters were as bog-standard as it gets and the story was essentially M. Night Shyamalan tier -- carried only by the constant twists and unpredictability of it. Music and art direction was all over the place, though the music really does shine at times (despite a good chunk of it being royalty-free.) The gameplay loop was the best aspect of it; you kill enemies to get their parts and use it to craft gear, then equip said gear and get enough exp to master it and unlock the ability linked to it, or get an extra skill gem so you can equip more skills. By the time you mastered all equipment available to you, you are sufficiently capable and strong enough to take on any challenge the game can throw at you. Honestly, I think it was the gameplay, it mostly being a one-man project and the fact that nowadays we're starved for good side-scrolling ARPGs is why people overlook it's flaws.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4&5;
An actually engaging traditional turn based game, especially on harder difficulties. Some people hate the artstyle but I like it so fuck you.

Beyond Citadel;
More fucking games need the reloading and hit mechanics of this game. Best I've played in years.

Hellsinker;
SCHMUP but not so ball blisteringly fucking hard you want to just quit. Worth playing for the art and soundtrack alone.

Elin;
Do I even need to describe why this is fun? Just go fucking play it retard.

Chrono Ark;
The tags made me very wary but it's actually really fun.

There are plenty of fun indie games you just gotta sift through the absolutely heaping piles of pure dogshit.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is one of those games that managed to ruin my future game experience by being really good. I was never really into RPG games, and even if I play them, the pacing and story was good enough to make up for the utter dogshit combat. One example is Chrono Trigger. Nobody plays it for its turn based mechanic but it does everything else well.
EBF5's "combat" is actually fun to play. My only complaint is that I miss its atmosphere and theme from older games, especially EBF4 deserved its name "epic". EBF5's settings felt much more dull and was less memorable despite being much better designed. I hope Matt makes EBF6 one day, but what else is there to improve other than making EBF5 but bigger?
Damn, yandev is old as shit. He looks like a muffler shop Mexican who would look the other way on a state inspection for $30
