This was one of the few 4chan /v/ threads that didn't suck ass when it gained some traction and I want to see if we can do the same here.
Post games you think will be cool, shill that niche game no one knows about and let anons say mean things about your tastes.

I'd like to, but unfortunately devs don't have a functional UI right now and no real gameplay has been showed. It's supposed to release on early access this summer, it shouldn't take too much time before we can see the real shit.
They have a bunch of devblogs but that's just promising words with fancy screenshots, right now that's all we have.

That actually looks interesting
Seems like a sci-fy space shooter with horror elements, is that right?

Death in Abyss reminds me of Omega Boost, I have no idea what the second image even is.

The problem for 95% of the titles is that you have no idea whether they gonna be actually good or not. There are many infamous examples that put smoke up your ass or not.

Remember Star Citizen? Fag Roberts overpromised an space sim MMO with FPS elements and a cinematic™ campaign and underdelivered a glorofied webshop for space ship JPEGs with a buggy mess attached to it.

If you mean Death in Abyss, that's an Omega Boost-like (did you play it?). You can play the demo right now.

No shit, besides games that are clearly shit you can't tell you'll like it until you play it. The point of these threads is to keep relatively niche stuff on your radar. Sure, most of them turns out to be a disappointment but eventually you'll find a gem.

You can often tell because people love to have developers run their mouths about their creative vision and development stories and shit and you can usually get a pretty good feel for whether they are doing good or just full of hot air by reading between the lines and paying attention to what kinds of problems and vision they seem to be having.

That's how I detected that Civilization: Beyond Earth was going to be a soulless sack of shit instead of the spiritual successor to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri they promised it to be.

And of course, the 4cuck user used the ole normalfag argument.

You don't need to play the game to judge it. There are tons of videos on Jewtube that provide examples of gameplay, or simple walkthroughs you can watch to get an idea of what the game is like.

Doesn't this can be used as a counterargument against your original post? You can just watch a webm and tell it's not your thing.

The two game trends I wouldn't have guessed being somewhat a thing are PS1-inspired horror games and 2D-style shooters.
