Radeon Software for Linux 25.20.3 Released - "Exclusively Open-Source" With RADV

>With the great upstream support for AMD Radeon graphics in the Linux kernel and Mesa, most desktop users / gamers / enthusiasts are best off just using the latest code shipped by their distributions or via the enthusiast-supported third-party archives/repositories. But for those on older enterprise Linux distributions, Radeon Software for Linux 25.20.3 was recently released for shipping that packaged AMD Linux graphics driver stack. This 25.20 series is the big one where they are now officially supporting the Mesa RADV Vulkan driver in place of their own former Vulkan Linux driver.
>Back in May was the announcement from AMD that they would be dropping their proprietary OpenGL and Vulkan drivers on Linux in favor of using the OpenGL and Vulkan drivers shipped by Mesa. They said that change-over would happen for the Radeon Software for Linux 25.20 release and now it's publicly available with the v25.20.3 build.
>This Radeon Software for Linux packaged driver update actually happened last week but happened quietly given the waning need for the packaged driver these days. I've been routinely checking the driver support page out of curiosity and then only realized the release took place today after checking with the ROCm 7.1.1 release.
>Sure enough, the change-over happened with Mesa RADV and RadeonSI Gallium3D used by default. AMD AMF also is removed as planned in favor of going with the Gallium3D VA-API state tracker:
>"This release marks a significant milestone, featuring exclusively Open-Source software
>The Mesa Vulkan driver is now officially supported, complementing the existing, robust Mesa OpenGL component. To maintain a 100% open-source core, the AMD proprietary OpenGL and Vulkan drivers are no longer included.
>AMF is no longer included. AMF users are advised to transition to the open-standard VA-API / Mesa Multimedia for continued hardware video acceleration."
>Besides Gallium3D VA, the RADV Vulkan driver also supports the Vulkan Video extensions with that video acceleration encode/decode API also continuing to see more adoption.
>The Radeon Software for Linux 25.20.3 release also adds Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 support (it's about time) while dropping RHEL 8.10 support. The officially supported Linux distributions by this packaged driver are Ubuntu 22.04.5, Ubuntu 24.04.3, RHEL 9.6, RHEL 10.0, and SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP7. Those on newer Linux distributions like Ubuntu 25.10 or Fedora Linux are best off just using their latest built-in packages.
>The Radeon Software for Linux 25.20.3 release can be downloaded from AMD.com.

What's the point of this release? It doesn't seem to support anything old enough not to have the relevant drivers in the kernel/mesa. Or is there an esoteric 15th layer to AyyMD ganoo/linux drivers I'm missing?

It marks the end of AMD's proprietary niggerlineage of Linux GPU drivers.
Previously AyyMD had two official drivers with the FOSS amdgpu and the proprietary AMDGPU pro pro driver with a niggerlicious OpenGL and CL implementation aimed at Enterprise boomers, historically also Vulkan but AMD open sourced that under AMDVLK 7 years ago before retiring that line recently in favor of the autistically propelled Mesa RADV driver favored by most people including Gay Ben, this is just AMD getting rid of what's left probably because all long-term support contracts involving the driver expired.
Not much of a loss as AMD's proprietary OpenGL driver was dogshit compared to the Mesa one, and OpenCL has long been superseded by HIP.
The only thing that remains now would be porting the Linux driver wholesale to Windows or if the rumors happen to be true open source the proprietary parts of the Windows driver, though given Microshaft's jewish nature and no custom native DirectX-on-Linux efforts happening thanks to DXVK it probably won't happen for some time if ever.

>I don't think that will ever happen
That should happen and --it should have happened a long time ago--. Most of windows drivers and proprietary parts have been leaked over the years so it's entirely feasible to do.

The fact that it's not happening proves what a bunch of pussywhipped compromised gayniggers the linux community and maintainers are in general and how far apart they are from the "hacker/cyberpunk" community which used to be the core of linux.

They weren't doing shit about this all the while begging amd and nvidia for shit making it seem like it's their fault for being big evil greedy corpses, "SAAR BVLESSS GIVE OBEN SOURCEEEE" and doing nearly nothing all these years except cope layering.

Nobody obviously needs to open source the specific part where you transpose historically problematic winfag and loonix compatibility layers into a neat package just make those parts decrypt itself on run and make it sound magical in the documentation making your career of an ebic hacker and programmer in the process.
>>296673

Are you? Wine is a compatibility layer and was never a real solution to the gaming problem on linux. It's pretty much garbage.

Do you understand that stuffing linux with compatibility layers to run winblows programs is tantamount to cope and will never be native performance because you have to translate too many especially graphics instructions?

Microshit will never cooperate with linux for this reason, directx and other bullshit proprietary instruction sets based on close source are the things preventing muh "year of the linux", even though competent computer scientists and hobbists could have fixed it the real way a long time ago instead they just did cuck shit reinventing the wheel to run said instructions more efficiently, which is still shit and infinitely more hacky and cancerous for the end user than the real solution that i was alluding to, which also happens to be "illegal" which is why I say the linux community need to quit being cucks and grow a pair of fucking balls, oh yeah and fuck github.

None of what you said is relevant, because the conversation is about linux devs making drivers for windows you retard. Wine isn't on Windows. Linux running compatability layers isn't on windows.
But the drivers that "the linux community should make to not be pussywhipped gayniggers" would be on windows, and thus not benefit linux users in any way. The only benefit would be that retards still using wangblows get an option to have an open source AMD driver. It doesn't magically make wine useless, or change anything about linux' ability to run windows software.

Asking people to put a lot of time and effort into making a driver for an operating system they don't use is the most niggerbrained idea since EBT. If you want an open source driver for your pajeetOS, make it yourself instead of begging others to make it.

Corporate niggerism is definitely a factor, but the other is that DirectNigs is by itself proprietary ebolaware protected by 6 trillion IP lawyers, DXVK and Proton only get by via clean room reverse engineering+Valve lawyers and Microsoft not being Nintendo enough to shut it down.
The built-in compatibility layer approach has already been done by fanmade ports of amdgpu with DXVK to Windows 7, and while it works for Windows 8-12 DX1-7 do not yet have mature wrappers in place.
IIRC Intel's Arc GPUs on Windows also Vulkan wrap DX9 at the driver level, but it's Intel so bleh.
Open soresing the proprietary DX parts and then just porting what's needed to Linux and Wine would be the final boss in that regard but that won't happen without a fundamental shakeup of the western economic model, also good luck merging decades of accumulative cultural and ethnic programming decline so slavware like ENB can properly render Modd Howard.
That is if you don't want to do a Rust any% speedrun.

I'd like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as "Windows" is actually GNU/Windows, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU+Windows.
There are only a few games I haven't been able to play on linux.

I can't get the Myth strattegu game running.
I had some trouble with XNA, but that could be my ability do stuff.

I tried Lutris a couple of times and got errors up the ass. None of the various Wine frontends do their one job correctly, par for the course for Linux software I suppose... The only thing that worked for me was using vanilla Wine and learning winetricks voodoo, eventually replacing winetricks with manual DLL installs that don't require constant internet access... A lot of time was wasted in the process but at least now I can run pretty much any game I want with minimal effort.

lutris is a wine manager with a nice front-end, its not going to solve every problem, you still need to install the necessary windows dependencies using winetricks, it makes my life easier, I can make a single prefix for one type of game and it use for different games, I know I can do the same thing with console commands but I prefer a nice interface.

Alien: Isolation actually had a bit of a resurgence in popularity last year (pic related), so presumably people were quite ready for a similar experience. So in that regard they may have lucked out a little on the timing?
Alien still holds up very well, characters are the only thing that look slightly dated. But even with that it still blew most modern videogames out the water due to some artists on the team being the only ones in the industry that know how to make materials it seems.
And the gameplay of course was pretty much the only example of scary monster hunts you done well "until now" (tentatively).

Now for the part of Routine I've played, it's pretty damn good.
It's got this autistic obsession with making everything diegetic (a word I only know because of design talks about the health bar in Dead Space). You use your gun on in-world menus from projectors, you fiddle with buttons on the gun to switch modes and activate said menus in the first place, it gets special camera modes, etc.
It's got multiple levels of crouching, leaning, and actually expects you to use both to reach shit under desks and through windows. Pretty neat. Bit of a spoiler the first time you see an enemy, it comes in as you're forced to reach underneath something, so you only see part of it, from a safe location. Was pretty neat from a design perspective, way better than a hamfisted cutscene where you're just in a separate room or some shit.

Audio design is fucking amazing too, only complaints so far are that the AI doesn't seem particularly intelligent or threatening and the story is near nonexistent for the first few hours. Although it seems I'm about to encounter a new enemy type so maybe that'll be better.
I have shit to do this extended weekend so I'll probably finish it up next week and write an extended review in the review thread.

The fan made Super Metroid: X-Fusion is a big improvement on the SA-X idea over Fusion. But it's still not quite what I've been dreaming of since Fusion's first release. X-Fusion's SA-X using the X-Ray Scope in only the first encounter was also a letdown. No feminist would say such thing, an anime hater would not say such thing, this is protestant view of the human body, the female body is according to protestants inherently sexual
There is a reviewer or a group of reviewers who believe this, and when an anime game or a porn game or anything outside of the norm falls in their lap they block it because they think its sinful, if it was just anime games and only anime games I would have agreed with you, but its not.

The line, “a woman’s body is inherently sexual and therefore provocative no matter the context”, is literally the same argument used for centuries by Christian moral theologians, Islamic scholars, Orthodox Jews, etc. Feminists (across waves) oppose the objectification and sexualization of women as dehumanizing and patriarchal. Religion has nothing to do with Steam's actions. After-all, you missed this glaring point, Steam allows porn on their platform.

Bullshit. it's a Christian-worldview, not some WASP invention. The Vatican has railed against women's "indecent" display as a lust-trap since forever. New Testament's crystal clear that ogling a woman lustfully is sin enough. Quit scapegoating Protestants or Anglos.

Could it be that instead of Steam having a dedicated content review tranny dilating the list of upcoming games for bad goy content, they instead have an over-quantized AI with a high temperature setting perform this task in the manner of an assistant?
I've prompted an LLM to work as a content sorting bot for the lulz and observed tendencies for variability in edge cases nude annie may characters standing around would get classified as either as "provocative" or "explicit" depending on the camera angle and mood of the AI that run, while abstract depictions of nudity/lewdity with no visible parts would get consistently marked as "safe" even if the fumo was sitting in the setup from the loli laser gif, bloomers(japanese sportswear), bloomer(mid-19th century pants-dress) and bloomers(western word for what nips call "drawers" commonly seen as underwear on 2hus were a frequent cause of confusion with the AI not knowing what a buruma even was sometimes the AI would fail to spot objectionable content if it wasn't prominent enough or "hidden" between other objects, and on rare occasions it would classify steganographic satire as "explicit" even though the dicks were clearly implied.
My conspiratorial theory has the Valve content review team use a cheap low-parameter/low-quant LLM of some description parse through Steam's game database for "objectionable" content, flag and sort according to varying degrees then send the most "objectionable" content to either a bigger LLM for closer review or a human employee, who is the only one authorized to perform content takedowns.
A combination of assistant LLM and Trannoidal protestant content reviewer could explain the anti-Japanese sentiment observed in recent years, but the recent incoherent wave of shutdowns bears the possibility that Valve may have decided to grant some Agentic authority to its LLMs.
The shutdown of the Horse horror game could in theory be the result of an LLM authorized to shut down content "unmistakably" in violation of content guidelines, the Horse game with its mixture of real life video footage, semi-cartoon aesthetics and (censored) sexual content and gore then may have triggered an anti-Elsa-Spiderman routine marking the game as pedophilically subversive and thus shutting it down.

Intentions still matter, though. The Catholic Church didn’t commission Michelangelo, Bernini, or Rubens to sculpt and paint religious masterpieces so people could masturbate to them in the pews. The primary goal was never sexual gratification for it was devotion, awe, and the celebration of divine creation through the human form. That’s a fundamentally different purpose from an adult game.

>corporate censorship
the objective of a corporation is to maximize profits, why the fuck would corporation want to censor things, and only for video games, anime and art sties, it doesn't make any sense, especially knowing that video games industry is more profitable than the movie industry, and anime and manga are beating the cartoons and the comic book industry.
Take Feminist Shout, whose leader, Melinda Tankard Reist, is a devout feminist baptists, a protestant, this raises the question, why would feminist be part of a religion with patriarchal origins, that makes no sense, well, I don't think she a feminist, she is just using feminism to gather free support from actual feminists and to protect her religions from criticism, all of this with the support of different governments, otherwise she would have picked a fight against hollywood, the music industry, and the CPS, places where child and sexual abuse are rampant, but not, just anime and video games.
But guess who controls these industries, jews, jews tell their good protestant golems what to do, and the golem use the government to finance these third party NGO to push whatever ideology they need into the public consciousness, the golem and the NGOs are true believers, they will do it because they think its the correct thing to do without pondering about the long term effects or the real motives behind their actions.
>what does this has to do with steam and valve ?
There is no logical reason for Valve to ban these games, the same Valve that moves heaven and earth to sell gambling to children, they don't have a single moral bone in their body, with the exception of the a few review employees, they are the true believers, a single protestant employee, or a feminist employee, or a "feminist protestant" in a key position is enough, that is how Lenin got into power, its the same strategy, they multiply like viruses.

That’s exactly what I’d like to know too. But the answer sure as hell isn’t “Protestantism.” I’ve said it three times now if Protestant puritanism were the driving force then Steam wouldn’t be absolutely flooded with porn games and LGBT garbage. Your theory is dead in the water.

>Take Feminist Shout, whose leader, Melinda Tankard Reist, is a devout feminist baptists, a protestant, this raises the question
Melinda Tankard Reist isn’t the one strong-arming game devs or setting Steam’s content policy. Also, pretending Catholics are somehow immune to feminism is delusional, there have always been plenty of Catholic feminists and Catholic prudes, and Catholic progressives.

>But guess who controls these industries, jews, jews tell their good protestant golems what to do
They pull the same strings inside the Catholic Church that’s why you now have openly gay clergy, trans “Catholics,” and women in leadership roles getting a pass. Take your /pol/ spergy to /pol/.

>they are the true believers, a single protestant employee, or a feminist employee, or a "feminist protestant" in a key position is enough
You have zero evidence for any of this. You’re just talking out of your ass. Show me a single shred of proof that Valve or any major platform is censoring content because of Protestant influence, or fuck off.

A few hundred activist accounts with “queer liberation” or “feminist scholar” in their bio scream that an anime game has “sexualized designs that harm women.” Within 48 hours it’s a trending topic, Polygon runs three articles, ResetEra has six megathreads, Apple threatens App Store removal, PayPal/VISA start making warning noises, and the dev self-censors immediately. Same corporations, same “brand perception” calculus. The difference is whose outrage gets amplified by journalists, whose complaints can trigger payment-processor blacklists, and whose boycotts actually scare advertisers. So yes, corporations fold like cheap suits to public pressure just not to pressure from (You), or from conservative parents, or from anyone who isn’t part of the currently dominant progressive activist class that has captured media, HR departments, and app-store gatekeepers. That’s why child gambling and literal pedophile grooming lobbies get a pass while pixel tiddies get the banhammer. It’s not that “nobody cares” it’s that the wrong people care.

Why does this matter today? Those same Evangelicals lost. They screamed for decades and achieved basically nothing lasting, no cartoon bans, no toy recalls, no legislative victories. The only thing that actually forces platforms to censor erotic content in day and age is coordinated pressure from progressive NGOs, payment processors, Apple/Google app-store policies, and HR/ESG departments, not some Baptist soccer mom writing letters to Valve.

Steam a gay. However, and this is a question I've been meaning to ask,
>2nd pic
What's the consensus here on more realistic shading on 2D? There seems to be a push for more humanlike skin on girls lately, as opposed to the older, flatter art or more fairly specific niche weeb trends like those red dots on a girl's assets. I personally see it as a plus, though it feels antithetical to the anime aesthetic somehow.
This is not a very elaborate post neither these examples are any good, I just wanted to ask away and not waste the entire afternoon.

>What's the consensus here on more realistic shading on 2D?
I really don't see the appeal. Realistic shading usually doesn’t work well on 2D anime girls because it clashes with what makes the style appealing in the first place. 2D character designs rely on simplicity, clean shapes, flat colors, and stylized features that communicate emotion through exaggeration rather than realism. When you add highly realistic shadows, subsurface scattering, and complex lighting, it starts to break that visual language.

Apparently it is being aggressively marketed. But not to gamers. Instead the target market is moms on Instagram, or something. And it's being sold to them as a toy rather than a video game console.

>It's not looking good for team green.
It might not be looking good for team red either. The console is selling for $250. At least on Amazon. That's about what the Switch 2 ought to have been selling at during the Christmas season. It's like every Nex Game Station bought is one less opportunity for Nintendo to recreate that Wii success with the soccer moms.

>Indies rely on less than 10 percent of the market for sales
Winter sale this year is possibly likely going to have lower sales than typical to basically get any impulse purchases.

Actually I wonder, could Nintendo get hyperfucked by the global DRAM shortage?
The Switch 2 has been price gouging customers since the beginning but with muh AI slurping up all the DRAM and and now also NVRAM fab capacity barring any sudden economic apocalypse Nintendo is near certain to raise prices in order to cope with price increases at their suppliers, and unlike Mircoshaft and Soyjew they don't have anything to fall back on outside of saved up Switch 1 capital should Switch sales in both games and hardware tank nor is the Switch 2 nearly as established as the Piss5 and XSex in terms of hardware sold and used.

The "ROB used as troyan horse because american stores lost faith in videogames" is just a myth. The add on flopped in both Japan and the USA.

The 1983 crash is one of the most overrated events in gaming history. It was just Atari shitting the bed for various bad decisions, not just the ET game flopping and burguer kids inmediately not being interested in games anymore until the NES.

The event has become something Nintendo fanboys use to made them the "saviours" of gaming when it was far from dead.

>>297484

I don´t think the market will crash short-medium term. But it will stagnate due to less consumers buying enough games and budgets inflating due to dev studios starting to use their own version of "Hollywood accounting".

D7VK 1.0 Released For "Production Ready" Direct3D 7 On Vulkan

>The D7VK project recently started as the Direct3D 7 API implemented atop the Vulkan API akin to DXVK and VKD3D-Proton with newer versions of Microsoft Direct3D. Today marks the D7VK 1.0 release for this project in now declaring itself "production ready" for Linux gamers.
>D7VK 1.0 is now available in being "production ready" and "well behaving D3D7 games are now well supported and work without any issues" but not that all bugs are fixed.
>D7VK 1.0 supports most D3D7 features and performance can be good for some games/software but there are some known "wonkiness" on Wayland with the Vulkan WSI, a few missing D3D7 features, and some "ugly" bugs remain.
>In one case shown with the D7VK 1.0 release announcement, 3DMark 2000 running on WineD3D scores 16k marks while under D7VK scores 45k marks. It is noted though that it's an "apples to oranges" comparison given differences.

My current theory On HLX:
>HLX is not half life
>HLX was a project that was meant to showcase off the hardware of the deck using the source 2 engine originally
>They decided on remaking L4D2 to showcase the hardware
>2020 comes along Valve sees Deep Rock Galactic
>Valve wants to make an new co op shooter
>Gabe sends gnome in space not purely just an funny
>HLX is an space shooter and simultaneously an l4d2 source 2 remake in one
>HLX is Either portal spin off
>Decaying space base Mantis men broken down aperture robots worn down
>Easily confused for half life if no narrator or white walls
Or
>An new IP similar in grittiness to half life
>Most comparable game to this in valve's pre-existing IPs is Alien swarm
Probably pure nonsense since it is based on basically almost nothing except for AI references and a gravity mechanic and rumors but I believe this is the most likely given answer to what valve is working on at the moment.

Stranded II (2007) is a DirectX 7 game, built on the Blitz3D engine. I wrote the steps to get it working with Wine using DD7to9 and DXVK here:

I'm not a dev on either project, but I would bet there's a reason why DX7 support was spun off into a separate project as apposed to just being a PR on DXVK. Maybe some kind of re-write between 7 and 8.

Meta shutting down Sanzaru Games, Armature Studio, and Twisted Pixel
https://archive.is/20260114041633/https://nichegamer.com/meta-shutting-down-sanzaru-games-armature-studio-and-twisted-pixel/
>Virtual reality giant Meta has confirmed to Niche Gamer they’re shutting down Sanzaru Games, Armature Studio, and Twisted Pixel in sweeping cuts to its Reality Labs division.
>The aforementioned branch of Meta is the foundation for their virtual reality headsets and accompanying platform and games, news confirmed after the initial Bloomberg report that over 1,000 >employees were being laid off.
“We said last month that we were shifting some of our investment from Metaverse toward Wearables,” a Meta spokesperson said in a statement to Niche Gamer. “This is part of that effort, and we plan to reinvest the savings to support the growth of wearables this year.”
>The big cuts and studio shutdowns are being made so that Meta can continue to shift their priorities towards artificial intelligence, which lots of major companies seem to be doing lately.
>While Sanzaru Games was acquired by Meta back in 2020, both Armature Studio and Twisted Pixel were acquired by the company in 2022.
>Sanzaru Games got well known for their releases and ports like Secret Agent Clank, The Sly Collection, and even Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, while Twisted Pixel was mostly known for their Xbox 360 arcade hits ‘Splosion Man and Ms. ‘Splosion Man.
>Armature Studio most recently launched Resident Evil 4 for virtual reality, though they also co-developed ReCore for Microsoft and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for Warner Bros., before focusing on VR games under Meta.

This is that specific kind of lowbrow, low quality, and unexpected lewdness in a game that somehow manages to switch on the "erotic" switch in my brain despite it's low quality. Similar to this is the idea that Kinect Star Wars: Galactic Dance off takes place in an alternate universe where every conflict is settled by dance and Leia willingly resides as a champion in Jabba's palace (a joint known for it's swingin' music and good drinks instead of spice and murder) on weekends and holidays.
Why I am afflicted with this extraordinarily specific fetish I don't know, George probably screwed up a lot of young men with RotJ.

>ASUS reportedly says RTX 5070 Ti is no longer being produced, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB to follow
>Hardware Unboxed learned at CES 2026 that the RTX 5070 Ti has effectively reached its end of life. According to ASUS, NVIDIA has stopped supplying GPUs for this model, meaning the cards currently on the market are the last batch to be sold. The company confirmed it has no plans to resume production of this SKU, marking the official end of one of the more popular mid-range cards of the RTX 50 series.
>So, the headline story is that Nvidia has essentially killed off the GeForce RTX 570 Ti from the market. Asus, the largest Nvidia AIB partner, explicitly told us this model is currently facing a supply shortage, and as such, they have placed the model into end of life status. This means ASUS has no plans to produce any more 5070 Ti models from this point forward. What is currently on store shelves is it from them. No more production of that card.
>This follows recent allocation changes by NVIDIA, which shifted supply toward other models. Based on current information, the RTX 5080 will now serve as the primary 16 GB model in active production. Hardware Unboxed also confirmed that the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is suffering from similar shortages and has now been designated end of life by ASUS as well, with production halted. NVIDIA’s allocation strategy reportedly now focuses on 8 GB variants, such as the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti 8 GB, which remain available.
>In their latest update, Hardware Unboxed explained that retailers and distributors have been unable to source RTX 5070 Ti stock for weeks. Prices have surged as remaining units disappear rising from around $730 USD in November to $830 USD today for the cheapest available cards, with most ASUS models already gone from Newegg listings. In Australia, the same model jumped from $1,200 AUD to around $1,400, and further price increases are expected in Q1 2026.
>The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is following the same path, climbing from $400 USD to $460 USD, and even beyond $500 for base models as stock dries up. The cheaper 8 GB versions will stay on shelves for now but are also facing higher supply costs, with some retailers expecting around 20% price increases in upcoming shipments.
>The RTX 5070 (non-Ti) remains technically available, though availability has tightened and prices have already started to rise. With 12 GB VRAM, it’s less exposed to DRAM pricing spikes, but retailers are no longer getting large restocks.
>As for the RTX 50 Super series, which many expected to debut at CES 2026, Hardware Unboxed reports that plans were scrapped or postponed indefinitely. According to Hardware Unboxed, board partners attending CES were reportedly frustrated by the sudden change, as NVIDIA had originally indicated the launch would take place at the show.
>If memory prices stabilize, NVIDIA could revisit the RTX 50 Super lineup later in 2026, but current signals suggest the project may be cancelled altogether to avoid overlap with the next-generation lineup expected in 2027.

Wrong. Straight romance (particularly from a male perspective and self-insertable) and harem dynamics are more fulfilling than yuri, and yuri is inherently more shallow and lighthearted (though maybe that's exactly what you like about it). There's a reason why the number of normal romance VNs dwarfs yuri VNs, for instance.
And by the way, although you post a Persona 3 Portable picture, that game's FeMC route had more otome shit than yuri anyway...

UKucks strike Gold!
UK Appeals court state RuneScape gold counts as property and can be stolen, in $700k bombshell case
https://archive.is/LbNTY
>Taking this gold was not deemed theft as, per the 1968 Theft Act, something stealable is: "money and all other property, real or personal, including things in action and other intangible property. As they believed RuneScape gold more akin to pure information, there was no legal basis for it to be a stealable good.
>Fast forward to the Court of Appeals, and as can be seen in R v Andrew Lakeman [2026], Lord Justice Popplewell, His Honour Judge Mayo DL and Mr Justice Soole believed this previous verdict did not "bear analysis". Basically, they disagreed.
>"They are properly described as something which can be stolen as a matter of normal use of language. They do not fall within any of the established exceptions. They are not 'pure knowledge': functionally they exist as identifiable assets distinct from the code which gives rise to them and outside the minds of people. There is no good policy reason for excepting them from the category of property which can be stolen."
>"On the contrary, they are assets which have an ascertainable monetary value and which may be traded for that value both in the game and outside the game."

I've always known in-game purchases as pure evil, but having a leaked conversation this explicit from one unapologetical scumbag to another about its purpose in a way no normalnegroid could justify is hilarious. Do you think this will change anything in the long run?
No, anyone who played COD with a working brain stopped about a decade ago. The only ones who still play the games(who have an all time low population BTW, nobody bought BO7) are genuinely mentally ill people, ghetto rats who probably pay for cheats(lol), little kids with mommy's credit card who don't care how much money they sink on their skins and console niggers who still own 8th gen hardware, just to play sports games and the yearly COD release. Then there is all the people who just play the battle royale mode(free) and couldn't care less about the main COD games, who are also counted in the already dwindling player numbers.
Still, glad to know that everyone who said that COD is just a glorified casino that wants to hook little kids on gambling were 100% right, this shit also makes me think that all the leaks about Activision forcing female employees to give their milk so male employees could drink it and Bobby Kotick threatening anyone who wanted to snitch with assassination squads were 100% right.

Is this the kike shills' new "innovative tactics"?
Every time some kike doing evil shit gets exposed, lots of bot comments with "you'll do nothing about it anyway", "what are you going to do about it?" or some variation of the same crap, start suddenly popping up, from jewtube to any comment section on social media.

New Castlevania game
I want to complain about the art direction, but this series keeps changing the art direction every decade, Rondo of Blood was 80s anime, Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow, Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness, Harmony of Despair, Dracula X Chronicles had the Kojima art style, had its own art style, Lord of Shadows that 360 fantasy medieval look, the 3DS spinoff game had its own unique art style, Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclesia, Portrait of Ruin, Judgment, Adventure ReBirth, Bloodlines, Circle of the Moon, and the N64 games also had their own art style as well, so I'm not going to complain about the art style.
Game looks alright, I just hope they are able to replicate the music style the Castlevania 1 and Rondo of Blood, not that atmospheric trash from Lords of Shadow.

I'm a bit leery given how, so far, game descriptions seem to be using "they" to describe the new Belmont protagonist. I mean, it's one thing if they're allowing for players to pick a distinct male or female option for "Trevor's successor", but Castlevania being set as a historical chronology, how are they going to handle possible subsequent entries referencing this one? Is it still going to be "they", like no one in the future can remember if this to-be-past protagonist was a man or a woman, or their specifics intentionally lost to the annals of history ala Shanoa? Or are they trying to push some "gender neutral" protagonist into a 1500s setting? Given what Konami allowed to happen with the shitflix "anime" adaptation of their franchise, I wouldn't put the latter past them.

In the steam page it says she, the successor to Trevor's legacy, on the fandom page it says they.
I don't think its they as in a singular entity, but they as in brother and sister or father and daughter, just look at this boss, it has a weird golden tube on his arm and has a cross attack, the character's whip is also yellowish gold, and if I recall correctly, on the Curse of Darkness manga, after defeating Dracula in Dracula's Curse, Trevor was afflicted with the curse of Dracula.
>>302077
Amazon, VGP, Playasia, and Best Buy (probably more retailers for physical media too) pages for the game use "they", with no suggestion of it being some sort of, I don't know, "cooperation" between multiple characters, be it in person or in spirit.
>Medieval Paris, Where the Tolling Bells Herald the End. 1499, Paris is engulfed in flames as monstrous creatures suddenly emerge from the shadows. Armed with the legendary holy whip, the Vampire Killer, Trevor Belmont’s successor ventures into the burning streets and the looming castle to hunt down the beasts. Can they save the city from the brink of destruction?
You're right though, the Steam page does use "she", but the wording of the premise text there ends differently in general.
>Medieval Paris, Where the Tolling Bells Herald the End
>1499. Paris is engulfed as monstrous creatures suddenly emerge from the shadows.
>Armed with the legendary holy whip, the Vampire Killer, Trevor Belmont’s successor ventures into the burning streets and the looming castle to hunt down the beasts.
>Will she succeed in saving Paris from devastation…?
Assuming the Steam description could be the correct one, what's the point of making separately worded descriptions for Steam and physical retail vendors and risk confusing people like this? Unless there's some harsh limits on developer/publisher submitted text for their game pages, I'd think it should just be a simple copy and paste task.

I did also take a look at the official Japanese description, for completeness:
>中世パリ、終焉を告げる鐘が鳴り響く
>1499年。フランスの首都パリは、突如出現した魔物の群れに襲われていた。トレバー・ベルモンドの後継者は、聖なる鞭「ヴァンパイアキラー」を手に、パリの街と悪魔城を探索しながら魔物を討伐していく。彼女は果たして、パリを救うことができるのか――。
So it does use “she” (彼女) in context of the player character, but it also seems like they’ve also completely dropped Castlevania III’s protagonist as being “Ralph” (ラルフ) out there for the west's “Trevor” (トレバー)? Is that something they’ve done for a while, like having swapped out the old Japanese titling for the series as “Akumajou [Whatever]” for English “Castlevania”? Or does it seem more like they were lazy fucks and just copypastaed the steam description to the game’s official Japanese site. Makes me wonder how reliable even their own information is these days.

Could be that it's choice between multiple characters, but both exist in story and it's a choice of which one is player character and (e.g.) which one runs the shop, but Konami has a wondrous way of fucking up everything.

One other possibility is that they're digging up some old lore. Back in 1994 Konami sent the western magazine EGM a fax with a bunch of background material. Most of this was never actually included in EGM's publications, but years later it was released to the public from the magazine's archives (I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this was published, straight up, in some Japanese magazine somewhere and it was just not well documented). It had a lot of background information including a Belmont family tree detailing how the Morris clan and Helsing family is linked to them, and it had Ralph/Trevor+Sypha as the only "common" ancestors to all of them. It's not clear exactly how these relate to Trevor (could be kids, could be grandkids, aren't necessarily of the same "generation") but the player character being a choice of siblings/cousins between Frederick Belmont, Ann Belmont (future Ann Morris), and Mary Belmont (future Mary Helsing). Would be fitting for a roguelite to have multiple, mechanically distinct, player characters. I doubt they're that clever though.

You'll then need to mosey on over to Github to grab the community patch which spruces up the game. That's also where Linux and Mac users can find UT 2004 installers for those operating systems.

In case they're touching up the game at the engine level, am I retarded or is it not unfeasible for these fags to enable new lighting mapping techniques like how UT2.5 had bump/normal maps? Considering the absolute state of Epic Games at the time, prioritizing shaders such as IceTexture or WaterTexture with Doom 3 and Half Life 2 releasing later that year, it would definitely be a QoL improvement.

カプコン新作『プラグマタ』の美少女アンドロイドを巡り、海外コミュニティが分裂。ユーザー間で“性的な目で見るの禁止令”が敷かれる事態に
https://archive.is/20260219124507/https://automaton-media.com/articles/newsjp/pragmata-20260219-422360/
>The overseas community split over the beautiful girl Android of Capcom's new work "Pragmata".we're going to have a ban on sexual viewing among users.
>A bizarre uproar is taking place in the overseas community of Pragmata.
>Capcom plans to release "Pragmata" on 4/24.The long-awaited release, after multiple delays, is approaching and the community seems to be getting excited.Meanwhile, the foreign community has also sparked a bizarre uproar, he said.Foreign media such as Kotaku have reported.
>This is an action-adventure game that combines TPS and puzzle elements. The stage is a lunar facility that studies the material of dreams "Luna filament" in the near future.Hugh Williams heads to investigate the facility where he lost contact, but the moon quake leaves him with a group of friends who are seriously injured, but is helped by an android girl, Diana. While a runaway AI "IDUS" is attacked by a robot, the two aim to escape from the facility while helping each other. In the game, you can use the hack to reveal the weaknesses of the enemy robots. It features hacking and a combat system that advances Hugh's TPS action in parallel.
>As the game's release approaches, there's been an uproar in the Reddit user community.First of all, in addition to r/Pragmata, which was opened in 2020, there were 2 subredits (communities) recently: r/PragmataSFW and r/Pragmata_.It's rare on Reddit that there are 3 subredits in a single pre-release game that is not even a series. It seems that behind this was a “community split" from the original r/Pragmata.
>The r/Pragmata report said that there was a situation where sexual comments and content about Diana were rampant.r/PragmataSFW is a subreddit that was launched on 1/27 in response to this situation, with the rule "to treat Diana normally" - that is, not to make sexual references. The moderator, Flagelant_One, strongly criticized Deanna's treatment of other subredits, but said that it was not made to complain about another subreddit in light of Reddit's rules. That is, it is supposed to be a community that deals purely with the topic of "pragmata" without making sexual references to Diana or criticising such users.
>In r/Pragmata 2/2, the moderation team of the subreddit announced a policy to tighten regulations in light of recent toxicities. The post said it would create new rules such as "removing all sexual comments, jokes and content about Diana" and "permanently BAN users who post sexual content including Diana."As a backdrop, Diana was portrayed as a child character, and it was reported that underage sexual treatment was not allowed under any circumstances. In the setting, it seems that the problem was that the sexual topic of the character in the figure of a child was rampant, while it was Android to the last, in the setting.
>As many of you have seen, recent discussions in this subreddit have crossed the line into harassment and inappropriate content.
>Effective immediately, the following rule is being enforced:
>Any sexualised comments, jokes, or content involving Diana will be removed.
>Users who post sexualised content involving Diana will be permanently banned.
>Diana is portrayed as a child character. Sexualisation of minors is not allowed under any circumstances.
>Discussion of the character, story, themes, or gameplay is still welcome.
>Personal attacks and accusations against other users are also not acceptable and will be acted on. This includes harassment or false accusations directed at other users.
>Regarding moderator applications: if you have applied, please keep your DMs open. I will be reaching out within the next few hours. Some applicants have already been contacted.
>However, Kotaku said the new rules further split the community and created a subreddit called "r/Pragmata_" for the purpose of posting sexual content about Diana. However, the subreddit was closed at 2.18 AM local time.At the moment, access indicates that the subreddit has violated Rule 4 of the Reddit rules and has been closed.
>Rule 4 of the Reddit Rules prohibits "sharing or encouraging the sharing of sexually, abusive, or sexually suggestive content involving minors" and "predatory or inappropriate conduct against minors," respectively.Posts within r/Pragmata_ may have been identified as sexual content involving minors, or content that contains sexual connotations. As a result, only r/Pragmata and r/PragmataSFW, which prohibit the posting of Diana's sexual topics and content, remain in this subreddit.
>Before the release of "Pragmata" Deanna is a signboard character of this work, such as amiibo will be deployed for Nintendo Switch 2 version. It is pushed out as a buddy work of Hugh and Diana, and it has a composition such as “Uncle and Girl.”
>On the other hand, Diana is an android, and the gap between Hugh, who looks like a human while wearing a space suit like a robot, and Diana, who looks like a human, is said to be the characteristic of this work. While taking into account not only Japanese but also foreign cultural parts, it expresses the androidiness with fine gestures. i heard he's here.ファミ通.com ).
PRAGMATA - Pre-Order Trailer
>In the case of the above-mentioned controversy over the treatment of some users of Diana, it can be seen that at the moment before the release, attention is focused only on the girl-like appearance. On the other hand, after the release, the image of Diana as an Android, not just a girl, may be established in response to the context and the way it is drawn in the work.By nature, Reddit's per-piece fan community is a place to talk about games, and unless you're an adult subreddit, it wouldn't be healthy for a character to be flooded with sexual topics, regardless of whether they're underage or not.It is also worth noting how the community will change after the launch.
>"Pragmata" will be released for PC (Steam) / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S/ Nintendo Switch 2 4/24.

This is just what happens when you fuck with gamers. Gamers are people who will sit for several hours, even whole days doing the most mentally demanding tasks nonstop to reach the end no matter what it takes. To the normal person, this is torture. But for gamers, this is pure unfiltered fun. Do they have any idea how much pent up power that an average gamer possess? Do they know how many controllers, disks, and monitors have been broken on a gamer's path to enlightenment? All of that mental and physical training to be left as nobodies in society? All of that means that any gamer, even the most timid one, can snap at any moment of inconvenience.

Do they honestly think that this is a battle they can win? They think public humiliation or social outcasting is going to change a gamer? Gamers have been shit talking each other with the most heinous language to each other ever since the beginning of gaming. These people picked a fight against a group that's already desensitized to their strategies and methods.

Gamers are competitive, hardcore, and vicious. They love a challange, and the worst thing that the dad did in all of this was to challange a gamer. The dad was not special, original, nor valuable to the kid. He was just another boss fight. Let this be a lesson on what happens when a gamer has reached the tipping point.

Someone's not been reading up on their streetnigga literature.
These days mental health issues really is a literal get-out-of-jail-free card. Not fit to stand trial = few months of medical supervision, then workarounds for functional free-bail. If the kid played his cards (or at least, if anyone told him what cards to play), he could be unironically clear with a clean record within 5 years. They wouldn't even be able to lay on the thick chemical shit on him because he's a kid going through puberty, he'd just be sat down in rehab and have to nod along to the program.

Look at that redneck looking cunt in orange. I bet he took it just because he didn't like how pussy his 'son' was being, those glasses and such.
>two hour gaming limit then go outside and do fuck all
As mean as men in charge over you are when it's not even related to you it becomes an insufferable situation. Most of us would send you to the cornfield. They should not even charge the boy.

It's 'funny' how normalfags suddenly decide people are adults whenever it suits them morally but at other times when it does not suit them morally they screech autistically. Also, murder is fine when it's a cop killing you before your trial and such. How convenient to just throw out morals whenever you feel like it.

Anyway, if kept in a fake world nobody would harm ya. Normalfags can't handle that though. Clearly they want the harm. It's why they are ruining video games. They want ww3 when ww1 was not even a real world war, and if it was we've had more than 3 as it is. With GTA being super popular it's clear to see what normalfags think and feel for their own society. Mobs by the way are why we charge kids as adults to this day even though they are no longer a threat to pigs. If the condition changed then why keep the laws? Idiots.

Light tap = broken bone, put your foot down too hard when walking = broken bone, chew on something too hard = chipped tooth, breathe in too fast = broken rib, bones try to grow too fast during puberty = snapped bone. Most with it die within the first few weeks, if they're even able to be born without the baby snapping it's neck on the way out; and any who live with it constantly have to be on edge for any sudden movement.

WIth public torrents only the most popular game has seeds and if you don't do the port forwarding thing that seemingly compromises your system then you won't download much of anything even midly unpopular due to not all seeds connecting. I miss mp3 download sites as well as I don't download entire discographies as I have actual taste. Some ISPs turn off your Internet in some nations if you torrent also.

Is the alternative to shut down a place after a year or two due to ever increasing costs, then might as well set up a system where people are punished for being niggers. Besides, the person maintaining the service could still torrent everything except the popular ones, and that way you could slowly download everything, and if someone else is downloading something unpopular the same time then you are actively helping each other.
Replies: >>303128

Rather than an alternative is to go back to having search engines that actually work and or to have many rom hosting sites like in the past so admins share the load together. Mirrors upon mirrors of sites. There should be like ten romsmania clones for example and I doubt there are. Putlocker clones were huge and they were all over for ages and still probably are. Anime too is far larger in size and tube sites are all over. How hard is it to host le dank roms? That shit has always been there and people act like it's going away when in the past they said le impossibru (of which it is impossible to get rid of them all). Good then. Let it go. You can pay me like Neo when I hand you discs manually through the door in cash instead. For many years people have done that at flea markets, selling roms on discs. I'll be the fucker selling it right next to marked up flash carts I got off of Aliexpress to be played on chink-clones consoles and such. When I was a boy people had so many damned rom sites that sometimes one would literally be a mario fan site and only have mario roms. One site called dohgames let you download psx files piece by piece due to slow speeds and you would use 7-zip to combine them back together again. The Internet used to be less gay. They could if they wanted split up each larger file to a neighboring site so it's not really copyright infringed in all nations as if you have a clip of a media, a piece of it, it was not fully copied. Legally that takes care of the large stuff provided that sites mirror one another and cooperate. Anyway, that got away from me but the point is that there should be very many of the sites so the server cost is low. there should be 10 Myrient clones this entire time and mirroring sites constantly used to be a thing and the news would cry rivers of tears saying they cannot delete anything off of the Internet due to such behavior. Now zoomers are all 'can we copy this before it dies' and I'm all "did that not already happen?" I guess cloudflare blocks web crawler thingies that used to do it, or something technical. So with the Internet being the big gay we are led to my selling you this disc, 50 bucks, every snes game, faggots. One dvd-r. Emu included. It'll be like owning an ostrich farm [rimshot goes here] It's funny for several reasons, not the least of which is that emuparadise pajeet did get rich off of his "ostrich farm". In the 1990s ostrich farms were thought to have been profitable but also turned out to be foolish to own as they did not profit as well as you thought they would so coloqually it means it's a bad idea thus I am making fun of flea markets doing exactly what they have always done. In reality it'll be sold via micro sd cards from Chinks in Emuelec chinksets with software time bombs to make you keep buying it. That and sds don't last long anyway.

tl;dr: the alternative is to have many sites and not just one owned by one faggot that could have taught others to mirror his shit. Perhaps he has no friends. If he had 10 friends and they all hosted their own version then 6k becomes 600 dollars. You can't get ten people to copy you? Die then.

The loss of aggressive hyperlinking was perhaps the greatest of all, Myrient was great for what it was but just a few links here and there to adjacent sites with no Jewgle adsense or any of that faggotry could've passively encouraged fags to back shit up in a domain-specific way but in the age of dickswords that's offensive or something.

Highguard shutting down this month
https://archive.is/20260304025019/https://nichegamer.com/highguard-shutting-down-this-month/
>Today we’re sharing difficult news. We have made the decision to permanently shut down Highguard on March 12.
>Since launch, more than 2 million players stepped into Highguard’s world. You shared feedback, created content, and many believed in what we were building. For that, we are deeply grateful.
>Despite the passion and hard work of our team, we have not been able to build a sustainable player base to support the game long term. Servers will remain online until March 12th. We hope you’ll jump in with us one more time to show your support and get those final great matches in while we still can.
>The team is excited to release one final game update to enjoy in the remaining life of the game. We’ll be adding a new Warden, a new weapon, account level progression, and skill trees! Full patch notes are coming, and we’re targeting tonight or tomorrow morning for patch release.
>From all of us at Wildlight, thank you for playing, for supporting us, and for being part of Highguard’s story.
Highguardbros... we got too cocky!

I haven't talked about Highguard and I need to talk about Highguard, is the most fucking retard game I ever seen my life, from the art style to the gameplay, for a developer to sit down and make a game like this, I believe it was a group of aliens masquerading as humans, or the entire studio never played a single game in their entire life, they don't like video games, they don't know what fun is.

>Gameplay
Each game round is composed of 4 stages.
>stage 1
you reinforce walls for 3 minutes
>stage 2
you search for guns and mine rocks for 3 minutes
>stage 3
you fight other players to grab the thing
>stage 4
you attack the enemy base for 3 minutes
>repeat
for 30 minutes
Even if you haven't played the game or watched any video, from description alone is a boring fucking game, the forced stage shit break the flow of the game, players don't have the freedom build a play style, one player can't be a healer/engineer, or jungler, or ganker or the tank, they have to play exactly as the developers want, in a online game.
You could have copied the Onslaught mode from UT2k3/2k4, put the DOTA jungle and diablo style random loot, but no, you overdesigned a simple fucking concept, put a muzzle on the player and forced him to play Green Light Red Light for 30 minutes.

>Characters
Outside of the Baby Hands Ken, the Evil Bitch, and the Belly Nancy, every other fucking character is boring to look at, zero personality, doesn't fit in fetish or niche, where are the monsters or the specific fetishes, where is the sexy nun, or the big titty bookworm, where is the skeleton guy, or the insect girl, or the dwarf, or the orc, or the cute character, at least Concord had variety.
Apparently the masked character is a woman.

>Setting
They called this a "fantasy shooter" but the only fantastical thing was that you could ride a bear or a panther, these people have no creativity, I bet good money that a random person off the streets would do a better job, even AI would do a better job.

>Art Style
UE5 shooter number 85, peak of human of creativity, can't wait to see the UE5 shooter number 86, and number 87, those generic quixel 4k dirt texture activate my neurons every time.
Makes Mario 64 looks like a piece of fine art in comparison.

I have no idea how anyone could sit down and the make a digital version of an unseasoned rice cake, its impossible.
>>303320
Besides natural retardation, a significant percentage of the population is heavily medicated and poisoned by garbage food among other problems. Garbage in, garbage out.
Add in DEI, bauhaus and commie shit and this is what you get.

The last hope would be someone like Notch or Carmack funding a white male company again but that won't happen because they can't be bothered, and the people they WOULD hire also can't be bothered.
I often think about that one autist recompiling Mario64 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_rzYnXEQlE
You could NOT pry him from his project. There are thousands like him, but they will die before they would join to make something that is not their personal autistic pet project.

In order to fix tech, somehow the autists need to be dragged together with decent leadership. The kikes would lose their shit though, because you could condense the ENTIRE tech industry down to one billion dollar company with the right workforce, notwithstanding AI slop.

Fork BSD, fork a Gemini offshoot with POST and multimedia, re-implement the entire hardware and software stack with old inefficiencies removed, make a game engine that is very high quality once compiled for the core efficiencies like rendering and physics but can be expanded with interpreted add-ons for game logic. The entirety of computer and gaming history and what's currently accessible is at our feet and just needs to be organized properly. Engoodified instead of enshitified.

Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC
https://archive.is/20260304133228/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-03-04/sony-pulls-back-from-playstation-games-on-pc
>Sony Group Corp. no longer plans to release its big PlayStation 5 games on PC, a major shift in strategy that sees the video-game maker returning to console exclusivity after six years of flirting with multi-platform releases, according to people familiar with the company’s plans.
>Online games such as Marathon and Marvel Tokon will still be released across multiple platforms, but single-player titles such as last year’s samurai hit Ghost of Yotei and the upcoming action game Saros will remain exclusive to PlayStation 5, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to talk publicly about the company’s strategy.
>The people cautioned that things could change in the future due to the unpredictable nature of the video-game industry and that Sony’s plans are constantly shifting. But in recent weeks PlayStation scrapped plans to bring Ghost of Yotei and other internally developed games to PC. Two games made by external developers but published by PlayStation, Death Stranding 2 and the upcoming Kena: Scars of Kosmora, are still planned for release on PC this year.
A spokesperson for PlayStation declined to comment.
>There are likely a few reasons behind this shift. One is that several recent PlayStation games have not sold well on PC. A faction within PlayStation has also expressed concern that releasing their games on PC risks damaging the console’s brand and will hurt sales of the PlayStation 5 and its successors, according to the people familiar with Sony’s inner workings.
>For decades, Sony’s tactic for selling PlayStations was to keep tentpole franchises exclusive to its own consoles. In 2020, it pivoted and began bringing games to personal computers via Steam. Since then, the company has put most of its biggest franchises on PC, such as God of War and The Last of Us.
But the strategy has been muddled and confused many players. Most PC releases arrived months or years after the games came to PlayStation. The cadence was never consistent, and the announcements appeared to be haphazard. The company also upset PC players by asking them to create PlayStation Network accounts to access many of the games.
>Now, Sony is looking to take a more straightforward approach: going back to console exclusives.
>Sony’s two rivals in the console space have taken different paths. Nintendo Co. has released almost all of its games solely on its own Switch hardware, while Microsoft Corp. has turned into a multi-platform publisher, releasing everything on PC and many games on PlayStation.
>Another factor behind Sony’s pivot may be Microsoft’s next Xbox, which is rumored to use Windows and be capable of playing PC games. Some executives at PlayStation may not be thrilled at the prospect of one of the company’s flagship games like God of War running on the next Xbox console.

A realization I got during the ongoing public death spiral of the necrophiliac rape new installment.

Nu-Bungie fans often speak of "great Bungie gunplay", how "Bungie makes shooting feel perfect", or that "the core FPS play in Bungie games is best in class". What is this actually referring to?

I always assumed it was what I noticed playing the Mac Halo port and comparing it to otherwise similar games of the era, like cancels on animations, dedicated buttons for all actions instead of mode-switching, weapon and enemy balance, or general polish on designs and animations.

Everybody knows Halo introduced a lot of staple console casualizations, unadvertised invisible mandatory auto-aim foremost among them, and at the time I assumed residual "bullet magnetism" Gearbox ported to M&KB was simply minor unintentional sloppiness. But recently learning more about Bungie's behavior in years since:
<Even on gaypad, the ubiquity of escalating auto-aim that made Bungie seem less conspicuous from 6th-gen has tailed off since late 8th-gen, with major titles like OW, R6:S, & Fortnite greatly reducing it. Destiny 1/2 and new Halo titles having continuously more aggressive auto-aim is unusual.
<Gaypads are now augmented with superior inputs to thumbsticks such as motion controllers, gyro-aim, trackpads, and mouse support... Except XBox. Even on other platforms after leaving M$, Bungie's support for these devices is notably subpar. Bungie/M$ deserve additional blame for creating the entire 6th-gen auto-aim fad to begin with, because Halo and shooters in general became such an obvious platform priority so early in XBox's development, that they had both ample time and awareness to redesign the generic Sega/Sony twinstick default gaypad specifically to make shooters actually playable.
<On M&KB, every single Halo/Destiny port has various kinds of auto-aim, basically no other dev does this, especially not so consistently, on PC. In the case of Marathon, early public trials even had 'RETICLE FRICTION ON MOUSE', only removed after widespread complaints.
<Many newer shooters with official MP matchmaking servers segregate twinsticks/mouse and/or PC/console into different lists. Bungie does not, this supposedly unavoidable status quo is used as justification for slathering maximum auto-aim on everybody.

It looks like "Bungie shooting fun" is probably just an euphemism of "dumbed down for thumbstick" the same way "flavorful food" usually just means "as much fat/sugar/salt as possible"
