>Washington continues to describe the operations as "self-defense" strikes.
>Iran Retaliates
>Iran responded by launching missiles and drones toward U.S. military facilities across the region, including targets linked to:
<• Jordan
<• Kuwait
<• Bahrain
>Last ight marked the second straight night of Iranian retaliation.

Oh. Oh God he's actually stupid isn't he? Does he not hing that Iran WOULDN'T destroy their own oil infrastructure to keep the resources out of the hands of their enemies? Does he not realize that war isn't a sporting event and that both sides losing is infact an option?

And Iran is already denying that they are in talks with the US. Is Trump just talking to some random Iranian and thinking he's talking to top leadership or are the people around him just taking his messages, throring them in the trash, and reporting back later wat ever Trump wants to hear?

Iran hit too hard and the obvious American "sneak" attack didn't pan out. It makes more sense to just keep these hit and run attacks in an attempt to starve Iran out, at least there would be a semblance of a plan in that.

Nah, I think they realize that yheyve garnered a certain amount of western support. Attacking a civilian event would throw that out the window, possibly galvanizing the US's two parties.

The real question is whether Mossad is desperate enough to hit their OWN pride parade as a false flag?
>>17762
Absolutely not worth it. If they were going to hit Israeli civilians they'd sooner just hit the settlers and police forces in the Gaza strip, maybe the West Bank too.

If it maybe isn't a show this time, because Iran and Pakistan are also confirming these alleged talks for once, then it still doesn't matter. It's just a memorandum of understanding about a deal. It's not a real deal.
>>17765
Yeah the real issues still remain. Iran isn't going to give up its nuclear material and Trump isn't going to give up demanding that they give it to the US. Hypothetically if Trump would actually negotiate they could come to some sort of a deal where Iran agrees to dilute the uranium and install it into civilian power plants and possibly agreeing to a enrichment freeze for (X amount of time) as a trust exercise. But that basically just gets Trump back to the day before he canceled the Obama Iran agreement way back in his first term.

On the matter of the Strait they could conceivably negotiate a complete reopening but the sticking point is that Iran now basically wants the same deal that Turkey has with the Bosporus. To be the official gatekeeper. That would actually be a step back for Trump where as before the war Iran's control over Hormuz was hypothetical.

The real sticking point is that Israel isn't going to stop bombing Gaza and Lebanon. Trump would basically have to "abandon" Israel in as much as saying whatever happens between Israel and Iran isn't America's problem and they'll have to figure it out on their own. I cannot imagine a timeline in which Trump would do that and I cannot imagine a timeline where Israel or the US neocons would let him.

One the oil markets collapse America is going to be completely diplomatically isolated.
>>17772
>US and Iran can't even get past an issue of who pays the bill before they can start negotiating
Yeah this shit's not happening. This should be a no-brainer. The US could even concede completely with the stipulation that Iran has to "keep this shit quiet" until after the negotiations are finalized. You would think Trump would jump at any opportunity to end this given how low the oil reserves and artillery reserves are getting.

I'm not sure why Trump keeps announcing these negotiation "breakthroughs" that turn out t be nothing. Possibilities:
>just naked market manipulation
But if it this then it's got to have cutoff point before everyone notices and the markets stop responding. Trump would have to know that.
>Trump has gaslit himself into believing that Iran is in collapse and is just looking for the US to give them an off ramp and make the war end.
Possible since Trump doesn't seem to understand that war isn't Yu-Gi-Oh and doesn't end when you make the other guy's life points go to zero. He keeps going on about how Iran has no navy or air force left and THEY JUST HAVE TO GIVE UP. He seems genuinely confused and angered by it, like he's playing a chess game with Iran and he is declaring checkmate and Iran refuses to acknowledge it and keeps playing.
>Trump is literally being lied to by the people surrounding him
Effectively same as above but worse in all possible ways because it means actually DOESN'T have all the information (or any of it) of what's going on in the war. I'm beginning to lean toward this explanation, in part, because of how he kept attacking reports in the press reporting that Iran isn't about to capitulate and that still have fight in them. Like he was claiming that he has inside knowledge that contradicts what they were saying. The likes of Heagseth and all the neocons would absolutely obfuscate or outright lie to finally have John McCain's war. Bennet is another snake too and seems to want to be some kind of economic Svengali or something.

I don think this isn't a Netanyahu thing because Ben doesn't want a deal at all. He wants Iran to be crushed. The Israeli government has outright stated that they'd rather have no deal than a bad deal because they could just start the war up later when it more advantageous for them.

>>17772
This is just becoming tedious. For once Israel has the right idea and just settle this with blows. By media accounts Trump is at the 38th time the deal is close to being completed. There obviously cannot be a deal when it boils down to the other side surrendering with no concessions. Only by one side losing can such a deal be passed.

>Only by one side losing can such a deal be passed.
But for that to happen Trump would have to go in with the military and MAKE them lose. Which maybe he could if he bent the entire military apparatus to that end, which would entail pulling men and resources away form other areas. But if he does go in (and he will have to go in with an invasion - standoff strikes wouldn't work regardless) then it'd mean he's sacrificing the midterm and the final two years of his administration to do it what with the skyrocketing gas prices and dissatisfaction from the anti foreign wars part of the Republican constituency. Not to mention the loss of untold American troops and equipment, possibly even including aircraft carriers. And that's to say nothing of what Iran will do to Israel and US assets & bases in the region. And he and his whole administration would be praying that in the time of it no other country "misbehaves" while US is focused on one place.

>dilute the uranium
Was this ever seriously discussed? All it sounds like is a binary "yes uranium," or "no uranium" debate.
