“Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Teenbros don't have that problem.” - Otamin

Hello /pol/. I'm formerly natsoc and I'm also a therapist. I want to hear your thoughts on therapy and how it could be improved for you. You can do that in my survey:

https://tarleton.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0dixWdcJPSTKGua

^I know the link looks suspicious, but I'm not phishing. Let me know if there's anything I can do to prove that. Qualtrics is the survey service and Tarleton is my school.

As for this thread: Have you been in therapy? What was it like? I have some great memories on boards like this and I hope you're making some good memories here too.

>Go to psych at low moment in life, searching for spiritual healing
>Most of the technique and ideology was founded by esoterics in the 19th/early 20th century, got big in the 1960s/70s
>You learn a new vernacular of terminology which you must use to describe your internal state and feelings
>You have private, drawn-out confessionals with a figure of authority in which you detail your innermost fears, regrets, desires
>You get addicted to psychoactive chemicals for which you are reliant on the cult authority for additional doses
>Members with disagreeable friends and family are often encouraged to sever ties/purge "toxicity" from their lives
>Members go through a phase of trying to recruit more people (You should have therapy! Everyone should be in therapy! I love therapy!)
>Shockingly high percentage of the women hook up with their therapist at some point
If you don't see that this is classic cult behavior... you're in a cult.

I can see all that. The field has some problems. I don't think there's necessarily a slippery slope from getting therapy to being put on meds. Unless you're mandated, they can't force you on them.
>Members go through a phase of trying to recruit more people (You should have therapy! Everyone should be in therapy! I love therapy!)
It's overvalued by some and undervalued by others.

So, what else were you disgusted by? Anything you liked about it?

I tried to reply to that thread but they banned me already. I'm a former hiki, still a brony, AND former natsoc. Do you know how common the overlap is? I just post the relevant thing to the board.

I can't just say "I'm a former brony too!" on a politics board. It has no relevance.

If you're dinging me for crossposting, that's fair. I feel bad for crossposting but that's the reality of research, it's kind of a guerilla thing.
