I always liked this amv. I think it didn’t go very popular despite having the potential for the same reason Shaman King didn’t too, the scale was just too small. Big shonens have huge war arcs like Marinford and Thousand Year Blood War, meanwhile lots of manga follow the jrpg format with a linear story

Soul Eater and Fire Force mangaka said he’s retiring because he accused Promare makers of stealing his ideas without crediting him.

Japs are so funny, they all steal from each other but act like it's worse than murder when it doesn't suit them. There was a picture and a quote about Osamu saying manga are all about copying each others so it's fine. Is he really retiring or just making a big fuss hoping it will make people see him as a victim?

This case is a bit different as it was personal. The concept artist of Promare was his friend, and he told him his ideas before making Fire Force, and that guy went to make Promare with them. Japs are very sensitive about what they perceive as betrayal. Though I agree with you, all mangaka copy each other, but this guy’s was personal, they’re mostly ok with copying otherwise.
